West Ham are to hold further talks as they pursue a potential deal for Anderlecht’s Leander Dendoncker, according to the Daily Mail.

The 22-year old Belgian is reportedly interested in teaming up with David Moyes at the London Stadium, and his agent has a good rapport with the West Ham boss.

Moyes is looking to strengthen his midfield this month and has been linked with a number of options. The club hope to complete Dendoncker as they need a holding midfielder, as well as hoping to complete a deal for Jonjo Shelvey from Swansea before the deadline.

Anderlecht are believed to be demanding a fee of around £27million for the Belgium international, which is due in part to the fact that Dendoncker has been filling in at centre-back in recent weeks, following an injury to Kara Mbodji.

Moyes is also reportedly interested in doing a deal for Burnley midfielder Scott Arfield. However, Burnley insist the 29-year old, who is out of contract in the summer, is not for sale this month. The Clarets have also offered him a new deal.

Andre Gomes unlikely to join West Ham this month .
According to the Daily Mail, Andre Gomes is unlikely to join West Ham this transfer window due to Barcelona’s £30m asking price. West Ham have been in the market for a midfielder this window, with the likes of Joao Mario, Leander Dendoncker and Jonjo Shelvey all being linked with a move to East London. However, it now looks like Gomes, who was targeted by West Ham in the summer too, is going to stay at Barca, despite the his lack of game-time, which will become more prevalent due to the arrival of Philippe Coutinho. It is no secret that West Ham have been after a central midfielder for a long time, especially after to the prolonged transfer saga involving William Carvalho and his club Sporting Lisbon in the summer. No midfielder at the club has been a consistent performer this season, which is why David Moyes is very keen to bring one in before the end of this transfer window.
