Sammy Sosa finished his career with 545 home runs, but he has not been elected to the Hall of Fame because of steroid suspicions.

Cubs owner Tom Rickets said Sammy Sosa will not be welcomed back to the team in any capacity until he is truthful about his history with performance enhancing drugs.

"Players from that era owe us a little bit of honesty," Ricketts said Saturday during the team's annual fan convention, via ESPN. "The only way to turn that page is to put everything on the table."

Sosa hit 545 home runs in his career, but he has not been invited back to the team in any way, shape, or form since he retired in 2007. He has also been kept out of the Hall of Fame despite the fact hitting 500 home runs is a typical bench mark for automatic admittance into the prestigious club.

He is not the only outfielder from that era to break the 500-home-run mark and not be elected into the Hall. Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire, Rafael Palmeiro and Manny Ramirez have all be passed over for election due to the fact they were suspected of cheating.

"I think we have to be sympathetic to that era ... but the players owe us some honesty, too," Ricketts said.
