Gabriel Jesus is on his way back and we could see him return to the pitch as early as next week, reports Manchester Evening News.

Jesus has been out of action since New Year’s Eve after suffering medial collateral damage in the draw away to Crystal Palace.

Pep Guardiola was confident of the Brazilian to return for the Champions League clash against FC Basel next month but due to a very speedy recovery, he could make his comeback in City’s FA Cup game against League One outfit Wigan Athletic.

“Gabriel is coming back soon, maybe in one week, 10 days, two weeks, he will be ready.”

Jesus has scored eight Premier League goals this season prior to his injury, and he will be eager to get back on to the pitch soon to secure, what looks to be City’s third Premier League trophy.

City were also expected to be without Leroy Sane for around seven weeks, but the German winger is recovering well and could be in with a shot of an early return.

Jesus Navas fires warning to United ahead of Wednesday's clash .
Sevilla winger and former Manchester City attacker Jesus Navas has told Manchester United not to underestimate the La Liga outfit when the two sides meet in the Champions League. As reported by the Mirror, Navas has sent a clear warning message to Jose Mourinho’s men ahead of Thursday’s clash. “If people underestimate us, they should look at what we’re doing at the moment, our performances, the fact we’ve got to a final already and we’re still in all of the competitions. We’re a great side and we can achieve things.” The teams meet in Spain on Wednesday night in the first of two legs in the opening knockout round of the Champions League. The return leg at Old Trafford is due to take place in the middle of March, with the Spanish side targeting an upset. “We know it’s going to be a hard game, but we’re doing well at the moment and we’ll do everything in our power to go through against United.” Mourinho’s men come into the game off the back of a tricky couple of weeks. Uninspiring performances against both Huddersfield and Newcastle has sparked talk of fallings out at the club. Sevilla themselves are currently fifth in La Liga, six points behind Real Madrid in fourth, who also have a game in hand. Vincenzo Montella’s men come into the game on a reasonable run of form, losing just twice in their last 10 games across all competitions.
