Anderlecht reach Agreement to extend Onyekuru loan

Anderlecht reach Agreement to extend Onyekuru loan Anderlecht have reportedly reached an agreement with Everton to extend Henry Onyekuru’s loan at the Belgian giants, according to The Liverpool Echo. Onyekuru joined Everton last summer for £7m from Belgian side Eupen, but then immediately went back to Belgium, on loan at RSC Anderlecht. He has been impressive for Anderlecht this season, scoring 10 goals in 27 appearances, nine of those goals coming in the Jupiler League, which Anderlecht sit currently second in, five points behind Club Brugge with four games to go. However, Onyekuru was injured in a match against his old side Eupen prior to Christmas 2017 and has been out injured since, and so with the youngster scoring nine goals in just the first half of the league campaign, Anderlecht are keen to extend the loan. He returned to Finch Farm to recover from his knee injury but he is now back in Belgium and hopes to get back on the pitch before the season draws to a close. However, it is believed that although Everton and Anderlecht have an agreement, Onyekuru is not willing to sign for a further year unless he knows that Anderlecht will be playing in the Champions League next season. The top two Belgian sides go into Europe’s elite competition, but Standard Liege are only two points behind Anderlecht.

According to reports from Belgian outlet DH (h/t The Chronicle, live blog: 9:40 am), Belgian club Anderlecht are looking to complete the signing of Matz Sels from Newcastle United on a permanent basis in the summer transfer window.

With Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez on the lookout for new shot-stoppers in the summer, and with a deal in place to sign Martin Dubravka permanently, it appears there is no room for Sels at St James’ Park. Fortunately, the 26-year-old has done more than enough at Anderlecht to convince the reigning

Newcastle United goalkeeper Matz Sels is on the verge of joining Belgium club Anderlecht on a permanent deal but there are problems between the two club’s negotiations.

According to Het Laatste Nieuws, The Magpies have set a price tag of €4m, which Anderlecht believe to be too much with the price tag now becoming a problem between the two sides.

The 26-year-old goalkeeper joined Newcastle in 2016 for £6.5 million from Gent but has since failed to make himself a regular in the starting 11.

Sels spent the 2017/18 season on loan at Anderlecht, impressing during his 36 appearances for the Belgian side.

Anderlecht believe Newcastle are being ‘stiff’ as they try to haggle the price down, but Newcastle are determined to recoup as much of the £6.5million that Sels cost them as possible.

Reports say that Sels is prepared to take a pay cut to join the Belgian club and wants to sign a five-year deal.

Newcastle defender to negotiate move to RSC Anderlecht .
Newcastle United defender Chancel Mbemba is set to negotiate a move to RSC Anderlecht in the coming days, according to Belgian reports. Mbemba is poised for an exit from St James’ Park this summer after falling down the pecking order at Newcastle. The likes of Celtic and Hoffenheim have been linked but a return to Belgium seems likely for the DR Congo international. According to Het Nieuwsblad, the 23-year-old will continue discussions with Anderlecht as the Belgian club aim to secure a deal to re-sign their former defender. The once-promising defender is now regarded as nothing more than a squad player at Newcastle following the emergence of Florian Lejeune in central defence next to Jamaal Lascelles. Mbemba will be hoping to revitalise himself back in Belgium, with a return now looking extremely likely to happen. Anderlecht also want to sign Matz Sels from Newcastle. The goalkeeper enjoyed a strong loan spell at the club last season and the Pro League giants are seemingly intent on signing him permanently.
