DC United boss Olsen confirms Rooney interest Although he insists no deal has been agreed, Ben Olsen has confirmed DC United are eyeing up Wayne Rooney.DC United head coach Ben Olsen has confirmed the club's interest in signing Wayne Rooney from Everton.

Everton . Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is considering making a second approach for the former Holland international, but the Dutchman doesn’t believe the Catalan giants or Spurs would be the right fit for him and Liverpool could be.

The Dutchman replaces Roberto Martinez, after he was sacked by Everton in May. "Southampton Football Club can today confirm it has accepted the resignation of first team manager Ronald Koeman, and completed negotiations with Everton over his move to Goodison Park," the statement read.

PSV Eindhoven have confirmed Marcel Brands has left the club to join Everton as their new director of football.

The Dutchman is expected to take over the position that was held by Steve Walsh.

Walsh is expected to leave his post after a terrible set of transfers, which saw Everton spend the best part of £200m on signings that were, on the whole, very disappointing over the past season.

DC United boss confirms Rooney interest

DC United boss confirms Rooney interest DC United head coach Ben Olson has confirmed that his side are indeed interested in signing Everton forward Wayne Rooney, but he has insisted that a deal is far from done. It has been heavily reported by a plethora of outlets this week that Rooney’s future on Merseyside is uncertain, with DC United interested in signing Rooney as a marquee signing ahead of their move to Audi Field, a newly-built football-specific stadium. It was reported on Sky Sports earlier this week that a deal had been agreed in principle for the 32-year old, with a reported fee of around £12million having been agreed. When asked how the deal was going by a TMZ reporter at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport on Friday, as claimed by Sky Sports, Olson claimed he didn’t know what the reporter was talking about. When asked a second time though, Olson had this to say; “Certainly the deal is not done but obviously there is some interest from our end.” Rooney had previously been linked with a move to Major League Soccer, having had a number of offers last summer before electing to return to Goodison Park. But Sky Sports News now understands the deal to move to DC United was drafted over the past seven weeks. The agreement, which runs to the end of the MLS season in 2020, is yet to be signed, but Sky claim it would take a significant change of heart by Rooney and his family to stop the transfer going ahead.

Everton have confirmed the appointment of Ronald Koeman as their new manager. The Dutchman resigned his position at Southampton before confirm it has accepted the resignation of First Team Manager Ronald Koeman, and completed negotiations with Everton over his move to Goodison Park.

Everton have confirmed appointment of Ronald Koeman as new manager. Koeman has signed a three-year contract, worth £6million per season. The Dutchman had enjoyed two excellent seasons with Southampton but has now moved on to pastures new.

Brands said:

“It is a very difficult decision, but I think this is a good step at the right time. The Premier League is of course a great thing. It is the biggest competition in the world in all respects. I now get the chance to do something in my own way. I am really looking forward to that.”

Everton will be looking to get their manager in place and spend well this summer after what has been a disappointing season for the Merseyside club.

Everton offer midfielder to Turkish giants .
Everton have offered midfielder Davvy Klaassen on loan to Turkish giants Besiktas. According to Fanatik, via HITC, Everton have asked Besiktas if they would like to take Klaassen on loan for next season. Klaassen joined Everton from Ajax for a fee in the region of £25m last summer but has failed to live up to the price tag thus far. The Dutchman found himself out of the team for the majority of the season and out of favour under Sam Allardyce. The 25-year-old could be interested in the move to reinvigorate his career in Turkey. Everton look set to appoint Marco Silva later this week, although it looks as though he will not have Klaassen in his squad by the time he takes over. © Alex Livesey/Getty Images Sport Eve
