West Brom narrow manager search down to three options West Brom have narrowed their search for a new manager ahead of next season down to three targets, according to Sky Sports. Dean Smith, Lee Johnson and Michael Appleton are the three men who are being considered for the role as the club prepare for life in the Championship. The club are looking to get the appointment done as soon as they can once the season reaches its climax, so it gives the new boss the best possible chance of preparing the team to bounce straight back up to the top flight. Darren Moore is also being considered for the role but he is likely to remain behind the scenes under one of three other men who are being chosen. West Brom are claimed to be concerned about Moore as their next permanent manager given that he has never managed a senior side for an extended period before, with experience of the Championship seemingly a requirement for the club’s board.

Moore 's lack of experience 'a big risk' for West Brom . Football Focus pundits Mark Lawrenson and Danny Murphy say appointing Darren Moore as permanent manager of West Bromwich Albion would be too much of "a risk" due to his lack of managerial experience.

West Brom caretaker manager Darren Moore apparently doesn't want to continue his spell in charge of the Baggies in the Championship season. The current favourites for the role include Brentford boss Dean Smith, and the former Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy.

The club are now convinced that Moore is the right man to take the club forward and he should be appointed as head coach in the next few days barring an “extraordinary turnaround”.

This will be Moore’s first full-time managerial role and he has a mighty task on his hands as he looks to bring the Baggies back up at the first time of asking.

Bristol City and West Brom battling to sign Dempsey .
West Brom will face competition from Bristol City for the signing of Fleetwood midfielder, Kyle Dempsey. Dempsey has been impressive for Fleetwood this season and the Mail Online are now reporting that Lee Johnson’s men are up for a battle to sign the 22-year-old. Fleetwood finished 14th in League One this season and Dempsey managed to score one goal and assist five, playing 51 times in the process and catching the eye of those at West Brom. He has only been at the club permanently for one season but it looks like his stay could be cut short if he fancies a new challenge in the Championship. The ex-Huddersfield Town player started his career at Carlisle United before joining the Terriers. He then joined Fleetwood on loan and impressed, so he joined them on a permanent deal. With West Brom being newly relegated to the Championship, freshly appointed boss Darren Moore will be hoping to take the club back to the Premier League at his first attempt.
