Manchester United end Kieran Tierney interest

Manchester United end Kieran Tierney interest Reports from Manchester Evening News say that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has ended his interest in Celtic defender Kieran Tierney, amid speculation of a summer move. It is believed that Mourinho has prioritised Alex Sandro from Juventus as he looks to replace Luke Shaw, who is set to leave Old Trafford this summer. The United boss travelled to Glasgow to watch Scotland’s friendly with Costa Rica in March, as reports emerged of interest in Tierney, but the 20-year old did not feature due to injury. United’s interest in Kieran Tierney spans a year of monitoring the developments and his overall progress in the Scottish Premiership. In April 2017, M.E.N Sports reported that United were preparing to make a move for the full-back after he had impressed them with recent performances. With Tottenham showing interest too, Tierney snubbed their particular move-making, as he made it clear he would prefer to join Manchester United if – and it’s a big if – he was to leave, boosting their transfer hopes. M.E.N Sports have now said Mourinho is prepared to let the Celtic youngster join another Premier League club, as Alex Sandro is his preferred choice. Bournemouth are believed to be also showing interest in the 20-year-old too, and could now be lining up an offer to match Celtic’s valuation. Given how Tierney applies himself with the fans, the most likely outcome is that he stays at Parkhead, where he’s often comitted his future.

Sandro is reportedly one of Jose Mourinho’s priority targets to strengthen the left side of his defence, but a deal to sign the 27-year-old could cost United upwards of £45 million. Chelsea were also keen on signing Sandro last summer but failed to agree a deal with Juventus .

This does not appear to have deterred United in their pursuit of the left-back, who is also capable of playing in an advanced role. According to La Stampa, as cited by Italian news outlet Calciomercato, United are ready to spend €50 million to land the 27-year-old.

Juventus prepare sizeable offer for Anthony Martial

Juventus prepare sizeable offer for Anthony Martial Juventus are targeting Manchester United forward Anthony Martial as a summer transfer target, with the Serie A club prepared to pay £44million for the Frenchman. It is expected to be a busy summer for United at the end of the season, with a number of new arrivals and departures being predicted. According to Mirror Sport, the 22-year old forward could be one of the first names through the exit door. Martial has shown glimmers of potential but has largely failed to impress José Mourinho, at least as far as establishing himself in the starting line-up. While United would likely want to keep the Frenchman, the defending Italian champions would be prepare to spend heavily to bring him to Turin. Martial has long been a target for Juventus, and with his contract at Old Trafford running out in 2019, United could be forced into considering a sale – although other parties will surely rival Juventus for his signature.

Sandro has been linked with a move to the Premier League with long-time suitors Chelsea interested as well as Manchester United. Twitter: Juventus executive director Beppe Marotta:”Next week we’ll meet with Alex Sandro’s representatives and we’d like to agree to an extension” (@DavidAmoyal) Chelsea tried to sign the left-back last summer but the Italian champions rejected, and to ward off interest have since tried to get him to sign a new contract. Attempts to make that happen during the season failed, but now they are ready to speak to him again about his future. The 27-year-old is valued at around £60 million b Juventus, but clubs appear unwilling to pay that especially with his contract not last much longer. His current deal expires in the summer of 2020, and with just two years left they want to fend themselves off from losing him cheaply. The Brazilian has played over 100 games for Juventus since signing from Porto, including 39 appearances this season.
