Pellegrini's arrival could secure Mario return

Pellegrini's arrival could secure Mario return West Ham’s chances of re-signing Joao Mario lie with appointing the right manager, reports the Daily Star. If the East London club appoints Manuel Pellegrini like expected, it would enhance their chances of bringing the Portuguese player back to them this summer. The star power the Chilean holds would indicate the Hammers are set for a better season ahead and tempt Mario to want to return to the London Stadium. The 25-year-old went to the club on loan in January, making 13 appearances and scoring two goals in that time. His agent, Kia Joorabchian, is trying to gain his client a move away from Inter Milan and has already held talks with Manchester United. The Red Devils are looking to spend money to rival Manchester City next season, and a strong World Cup from Mario could see him move to Old Trafford. West Ham fans will want him back, and doing that would show real signs of intent going into next season.

JOAO MARIO insists he is done with Inter Milan and will not be returning after his West Ham spell. The Portuguese playmaker, 25, joined the Hammers in January, with an option for a permanent deal in the contract.

As reported by the Evening Standard, Joao Mario is not ruling out a return to West Ham after insisting that he is not set to play for Inter Milan again.

Mario joined The Hammers in the January transfer window on a short-term loan deal from Inter and after an inconsistent start, he started to show his class and consistently, with great performances against Leicester, Manchester United and Everton towards the end to the season.

West Ham have also been linked with a move for PSG’s Javier Pastore, who is a very similar player to Mario. It would be likely for only one to join unless Mario’s move is another loan deal, it seems.

Inter Milan looking to sell Joao Mario

Inter Milan looking to sell Joao Mario Inter Milan are looking to sell former West Ham loanee Joao Mario in this window, according to Calciomercato. The Italian side would ideally like the midfielder sold by June 30th in order to balance the financial fair play sheets. Inter will be looking to sell the Portuguese international for a fee of around 35 million euros. David Gold has claimed on talkSPORT that West Ham are preparing to spend more than ever before in this summer window, making a bid of that magnitude possible. However, it is up to new manager Manuel Pellegrini to identify the positions and players that he would like the owners to target. Mario had a good spell at the London Stadium last season, making 14 appearances since joining in January and scoring two goals.

In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, Mario said:

“I don’t want to try again, I don’t have the necessary motivation, it’s an experience that’s over, no doubt.”

“I’m not angry, I’m taking stock of the year and a half I spent in Milan. The idea is clear: I will not go back.”

He then left a massive hint about a move back to the London Stadium when he said:

“I’m evaluating things and the Premier League would be ideal, it’s a spectacular environment; a physical and technical competition at the same time, that’s the first idea, then La Liga. West Ham could be an idea, but now it’s too early to make a judgement.”

West Ham plot move for free-agent Mario Balotelli .
Premier League side West Ham United are plotting a move for former Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli this summer, according to a report on TalkSPORT. The Italian striker’s contract with French Ligue 1 club OGC Nice expires this summer, meaning he will be available on a free transfer. New Hammers boss Manuel Pellegrini is eager to add a quality striker to his squad as he hopes to light up the London Stadium with free-flowing attacking football next season. Balotelli has been criticised in previous years for his off the field antics and attitude problems, but since he joined Nice in the French top flight, he has focused on improving his performances and has matured during his stint in Ligue 1. The 27-year-old’s 18 domestic goals last season saw him earn a call-up to the Italy squad and now, he is eager to return back to the Premier League. His agent Mino Raiola has revealed that he is still assessing his options at the moment as there is also interest from Marseille.
