Chelsea told to activate Jean-Michael Seri’s €40m release clause

Chelsea told to activate Jean-Michael Seri’s €40m release clause Jean-Michael Seri’s agent has said that Chelsea will need to activate the midfielder’s €40million release clause by July 15th if they intend on avoiding negotiations with French side Nice. It is reported in France that the Blues are keen to secure a deal for the Ivorian this summer, with the Mirror claiming that talks will begin this week. Napoli and Arsenal have also been linked with the 26-year-old this summer, with Unai Emery looking to improve his midfield as he prepares for his first season with the Gunners. Arsenal tried signing the midfielder last summer, but they didn’t act quick enough as they wanted to get him for a cheaper price. The player’s agent exclusively told Sport Witness. “Every year, there is a €40m clause that is valid until July 15th. Before then, they just have to offer the amount and there’s no need to have negotiations with Nice.” With Carlo Ancelotti now the Napoli boss, Seri’s agent also believes a move to Naples may be on the cards: “It’s true that there are possibilities in England, so we’ll see, but Ancelotti has a strong image and is very respected by the players he’s managed, which can be a decisive factor for Seri. Basically, he works via his emotions. He’ll go where he’s most desired, so if you really want him and you’re welcoming. Because Napoli play nice football, and over the years they’ve become a bigger club, so he’s going to listen very carefully.

ARSENE WENGER is still considering whether to pay Jackson Martinez's £35m release clause to trump Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham and bring the Colombian striker to Arsenal .

Benfica have slapped a £40million release - clause on Arsenal target Goncalo Guedes. The Portugal Under-19 international is still waiting to make his league debut for Benfica, but he has been used in the cup competitions and has also scored seven goals for the club's B Team.

Arsenal have been told that they must meet Steven N’Zonzi’s release clause if they want to sign him this summer.

According to The Independent, Arsenal will have to pay N’Zonzi’s £35m release clause in order to bring him back to England over the next few months.

The report claims that Sevilla are unwilling to sell N’Zonzi, meaning Arsenal have no option but to take the matter out of Sevilla’s hand and match the clause.

Liverpool will need to spend big to land Lucas Paqueta .
Flamengo reportedly want to tie down Lucas Paqueta to an improved contract, amid interest from Liverpool. It’s claimed by Brazilian news outlet Lance that the Reds, who are understood to be keen on a summer deal for the midfielder, want to tie their star man down to a new deal, which will include an increased release clause. Paqueta’s existing deal at Flamengo is believed to entail a release clause priced at €50m, which would still be a sizable outlay for Liverpool if they were to pursue a deal for the player. However, Lance indicate that in the proposed new deal for Paqueta, a release clause of €80m will be set in an attempt to ward off any potential suitors in the near future. Paqueta has been catching the eye of European clubs and was included in Tite’s provisional 35-man squad for the World Cup. However, the Brazil boss did not decide to take the attacking midfielder to the tournament in Russia. Flamengo appear to be desperate to retain the services of their playmaker and it seems Liverpool will need to spend big if they are to land him this summer.
