Everton keeping an eye on Toulouse star

Everton keeping an eye on Toulouse star Everton are reportedly keeping an eye on Toulouse centre-back Issa Diop. It’s claimed by L’Equipe, as translated by Sport Witness, that the Toffees have been keeping tabs on the defender in recent months. Diop has emerged as one of Ligue 1’s brightest talents, establishing himself as a key man for Toulouse. His consistency and impressive performances have attracted several clubs ahead of next season and Everton are seemingly keen. The 21-year-old’s form also earned him the role as Toulouse’s captain; an impressive feat for a player of such tender age. Everton will be desperate to bolster their defensive ranks this summer after a season of suspect performances throughout last season. Diop would undoubtedly add additional quality to the defence, so it comes as no surprise to see the Toffees linked with a move. However, they may be forced to fend off competition from elsewhere. It’s stated in the report that Crystal Palace are also attentive to Diop’s situation at Toulouse.

Everton have made their first move to sign Aston Villa’s Jordan Amavi according to a report from French publication La Provence. The 22-year-old defender had signed for Aston Villa from French side Nice in the summer of 2015

His current side are happy to listen to any offers, but are wanting £26 million for the player if they were to sell him.

Money would be no problem for Everton, who are well backed and are preparing to make a move for the player.

Everton considering move for recently-relegated Bundesliga youngster

Everton considering move for recently-relegated Bundesliga youngster Everton are one of four Premier League sides considering a summer move for Hamburg’s Aaron Opoku. The Guardian reports that all four sides have been keeping close tabs on the player, who has recently rejected professional terms with the German side. The player reportedly sees his future away from the recently-relegated club and is keen on a Premier League move. Opoku, who has represented his country at youth level, is a 19-year-old attacking midfielder, but can also play out on the left. Despite Hamburg’s relegation to the 2. Bundesliga, where regular game time could be more achievable, Opoku wants the next step of his career to be in England. Because of the player’s age, clubs outside of Germany would only have to pay a small training fee for the player. Opoku is yet to make a first-team appearance for Hamburg but did feature for the club’s reserve side last season.

The Toffees backline is an ageing one and some fresh impetus of younger players is thought to be needed.

A central defender would be the kind of player which the club would be looking to bring in with options in this department sparse.
