The Nationals have activated Daniel Murphy from the disabled list, the team announced Tuesday.

Murphy will make his season debut as Washington’s designated hitter in its series opener against the Yankees.

Murphy had surgery on his right knee in late October and missed the Nationals' first 63 games of 2018.

Murphy, a three-time All-Star, hit .322 with 23 home runs and 93 RBIs last season. He has a career .299 batting average and .345 on-base percentage.

The Nationals currently hold a 36-27 record this season.
