Jonny Evans set to join Leicester City

Jonny Evans set to join Leicester City Leicester City look set to sign Jonny Evans from West Brom after meeting the defender’s release clause. The Northern Irish star was linked with big money moves to Arsenal and Manchester City in the recent plast, but he’s now set to leave for just £3.5m. Accroding to reports, the Foxes will pay the £3.5m in two installments, so West Brom will need to wait before getting the full fee into the club’s coffers. The 30-year-old will likely battle Wes Morgan for a place in the Leicester first team as Harry Maguire looks like he’s nailed down a spot in Claude Puel’s back four. Evans joined West Brom in 2015 and went on to play 95 games for the club, scoring five goals.

Leicester City could face stern competition if they choose to pursue a possible deal for Aleksandar Dragovic, the Leicester Mercury reports.

The Austrian spent last season on loan at the King Power Stadium from Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen and the club have the option to make the deal a permanent one.

However, a delay in getting the deal over the line has alerted other potential suitors.

Dragovic was hugely popular amongst the Leicester fans last season and he recently topped an online poll carried out by the Leicester Mercury which asked fans who they would most like to see their club sin, listing Dragovic alongside all the other names that have been linked with a move to the East Midlands club.

However the 27-year-old defender is also being monitored by West Ham United, Everton and Brighton and Hove Albion.

It is believed that Dragovic will cost in the region of £15million.

Leicester to battle Everton for World Cup defender .
Everton will face competition from Leicester City in their bid to sign Croatian international Domagoj Vida, according to reports. The Toffees were linked with a move for the versatile defender earlier on in the week and it seems they are not the only Premier League club keen to recruit Vida this summer. Although the player has four years remaining on his current deal at Besiktas, Turkish-Football report that the race for Vida’s signature is heating up, with Leicester having joined Everton in their pursuit of the player. Vida is currently out in Russia with the Croatia squad as they gear up for the knockout stages of the World Cup. The experienced defender has performed well in the tournament so far, doing his chances of a summer move no harm. Despite only signing Vida on a free transfer in January, Besiktas are believed to be open to offloading him this summer in order to make a handsome profit. This will certainly be the case if he continues to flourish for Croatia, as a move to the Premier League becomes an increasingly likely possibility for the powerful defender.
