  Liverpool announce pre-season plans Liverpool FC has today announced four UK friendlies that will take place this July to kick-off the Reds 2018/19 pre-season programme. Chester FC v Liverpool FC, Saturday 7th July, Kick-off 3pm BST Tranmere Rovers v Liverpool FC, Wednesday 11th July, Kick-off 7.45pm BST Bury v Liverpool FC, Saturday 14th July, Kick-off 7.30pm BST Blackburn Rovers v Liverpool FC, Thursday 19th July, Kick-off 7.45pm BST LFC will play Chester FC at the Swansway Chester Stadium for the first time in what promises to be an exciting start to the team’s pre-season preparations. This will be the third consecutive summer that the squad have visited Prenton Park after previously running out 1-0 winners in 2016 with striker Danny Ings scoring, before last year’s 4-0 victory. Bury will take on Liverpool FC at the Energy Check Stadium at Gigg Lane. The fixture will see the sides play for the first time at the Shakers home since they met in 1962, for a game which saw 21,871 fans descend on Gigg Lane to watch Bill Shankly’s side beat Bury 3-0. Jurgen Klopp’s side are also set to face Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park in a pre-season friendly. The sides last met in the 2015 FA Cup 6th round replay which saw LFC claim a thrilling 1-0 victory. Liverpool FC’s UK pre-season friendlies will kick-off the team’s summer campaign that will see the Reds visit the USA for the International Champions Cup (22nd -28th July), and Ireland where the they will take on SCC Napoli at the Aviva Stadium on Saturday 4th August. The departure of both players is hardly a surprise as both have been rumoured to be leaving for a number of weeks. Can is expected to join Juventus after turning down the chance to stay at Liverpool, whislt Flanagan will become a free agent, even though he was under contract until 2019. The club today released its Premier League retained list following the conclusion of the 2017-18 campaign, confirming the departure of a number of players in the process. “Can, who joined the Reds from Bayer Leverkusen in 2014, made his 167th and final appearance for Liverpool in last month’s Champions League final defeat by Real Madrid.” “Academy graduate Flanagan, meanwhile, departs having featured in 51 senior games following his 2011 debut against Manchester City.” “The defender was a mainstay of the team that challenged for the Premier League title in 2013-14, making 23 appearances as the Reds ultimately finished second, and became a senior England international.” “His last game for the club was a League Cup tie at Leicester City in September.

West Ham United will kick off the 2016-17 Premier League season away at Chelsea and finish the campaign with a trip to newly-promoted Burnley. Jurgen Klopp says Mo Salah will stay on at Liverpool FC.

Liverpool to play Torino in pre-season friendly at Anfield .
Liverpool FC have announced that they will play Torino FC in a pre-season friendly at Anfield. Jurgen Klopp’s side will face the Italian outfit on Tuesday August 7th, kick-off at 7.30pm, in what will be the Reds last pre-season friendly ahead of their 2018/19 campaign. Torino are among the most successful clubs in Italy with seven league titles, including five consecutive league titles. The have also won the Coppa Italia five times and were finalists in the UEFA Cup in 1991-92. It will be the first time that the clubs have met, in what promises to be an exciting game. Liverpool FC last played a pre-season friendly at Anfield back in 2014, when then Reds claimed a 4-0 victory over Borussia Dortmund. Ticket sales for the game will begin at 8.15am on Monday 18th June for Season Ticket Holders and 8.15am on Tuesday 19th June for LFC Members. Tickets will then go on general sale from 8.15am on Wednesday 20th June.
