Benitez is in the market for a new winger, with Kenedy and Andros Townsend both transfer targets. Chelsea have confirmed that Kenedy has today re-joined Newcastle United on a season-long loan deal. As per the club’s official website, Kenedy joins Rafa Benitez’s men after spending the second half of the season on loan there. The club’s report does not clarify whether or not the Magpies maintain the option to buy the player at the end of the loan deal. Previous reports have suggested that Benitez’s men will be given first refusal on the option to sign him permanently next summer. The Brazilian was a popular figure at St James’ Park, with many fans urging the club to re-sign the player this summer. Kenedy fell out of favour at Chelsea last season and was expected to be moved on this summer. The Brazilian has failed to realise his potential while at Stamford Bridge after arriving with a lot expected of him.
