Kris Bryant's return from the 10-day disabled list has been postponed because of lingering pain in his left shoulder, according to manager Joe Maddon.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Bryant felt the pain during a workout before Tuesday's game against the Tigers. He has not played since June 22 because of the issue. He originally hurt the shoulder sliding in a game more than a month ago.

“He worked out, and he still felt it a little bit,” Maddon said.

Maddon said Bryant's return will now come Friday, at the earliest.

“I just want the guy to be well," Maddon said. "I’m loving the break he’s getting right now — over the last couple years, all the work that he’s put in.”
