Harry Wilson explains why Derby County was the right fit .
Liverpool starlet Harry Wilson is confident that he has made the right decision after it was yesterday confirmed that he would spend the 2018/19 season on loan at Derby County, the Evening Times reports. The winger attracted interest from a whole heap of clubs including Celtic, Rangers, West Brom and Norwich City, but believes that Derby is the right club for him to progress his career. Wilson will now link up with former Chelsea and England midfielder Frank Lampard who is taking his first steps into management at Derby. Wilson impressed on loan at fellow Championship side Hull City last season, leading to him signing a new long-term deal with his parent club this summer. Wilson explained why he chose Derby County over several other clubs. “In the summer my agent had a lot of interest and I had to sit down with him and Liverpool to go through the teams carefully and try to choose the best option for me.” “We narrowed it down to a few teams, by the end of it we decided this would definitely be the right place for me to come. Knowing what a big club it is and such a big fan base, then coming here this morning and seeing the facilities and what the club is about, I feel that I made the right decision.” “He (Lampard) is a big attraction. Seeing the career he had as a player and the things he has done in the game is brilliant and I am looking forward to getting into training.” “To be learning from him on a daily basis and the coaching staff and players here, I think it will do me a world of good.” “He has told me the way he wants his team to play and I feel I can be a great addition to that.” “When I get on the pitch it is up to me to listen to what he wants and try to perfect that on the pitch.
