Everton lodge enquiry over deal to sign Ligue 1 defender

Everton lodge enquiry over deal to sign Ligue 1 defender Everton have reportedly lodged an enquiry over a deal to sign Ramy Bensebaïni from Rennes this summer. The Toffees are out to add more defensive quality to the ranks ahead of next season and according to claims from France, as reported by GFFN, Bensebaïni has emerged as a target. Twitter: Everton & Stuttgart have made enquiries for Rennes defender Ramy Bensebaïni https://t.co/PzwouL8hbC (@GFFN) It’s believed that, along with Everton, Bundesliga outfit Stuttgart have also expressed an interest in signing the defender, who enjoyed a good season in Ligue 1 last term. The 23-year-old has often been lauded for his ability to play in a range of different positions across the back four but is widely perceived as a central defender. Bensebaïni made 29 appearances in Ligue 1 last season and impressed many with his displays, with Everton evidently being among those keen. The Toffees have not yet made a summer signing, but it seems they are focusing on defensive additions at this moment in time, with reports indicating that they will also submit a bid to sign Kieran Tierney from Celtic.

Anfield boss keen on Irish international. Any move to capture McGeady would clearly require a fee well in excess of that paid by Spartak Moscow and it seems that Liverpool’s owners Fenway Sports Group, seem more than content to fund Dalglish’s transfer targets.

Everton are among the clubs who are keen on making a move to sign Ilya Kutepov this summer, according to Sport Witness.

The Spartak Moscow defender was out on loan in Italy at Sampdoria and performed well making 31 appearances in total in all competitions.

He has now back at his parent club,  Sassuolo and is looking at his options after also being tracked by fellow Premier League club, West Ham United.

Everton have only been linked with a move for the player for a short time, but the Hammers have been tracking him for a number of months now.

Everton close to sealing deal for Algerian defender

Everton close to sealing deal for Algerian defender Everton are reportedly close to sealing a £13.5m deal for Algeria international Ramy Bensebaini, according to the Daily Star. The Daily Star is reporting that a source close to the player has informed them that the Toffees are edging ever closer to securing Bensebaini’s services. Bensebaini is expected to leave his current club Rennes this summer, despite being under contract until 2020. Everton are favourites to secure the 23-year-old centre-back’s services, however he is also attracting strong interest from Stuttgart. The Bundesliga outfit have also apparently approached Rennes about the defender’s availability. Everton boss Marco Silva is keen to add some youth into his squad this summer and Bensebaini would certainly prove a good addition for the Toffees. As well as his preferred role in central defence, Bensebaini can also operate at left-back or in defensive midfield and he would become Everton’s first signing of the summer if they were to get a deal over the line.

Pasalic's loan move delayed by Sarri's arrival .
Mario Pasalic’s move to Fiorentina has been delayed because of Maurizio Sarri’s arrival at the club. According to a report from Italian paper Corriere dello Sport, as cited on Calcio Mercato, the new Chelsea boss wants to take a look at all his players before deciding on their futures at the club. It is yet to be seen if Pasalic could feature for Chelsea this season, but with dozens of players returning from loan spells elsewhere, Sarri will be keen to see what he has at his disposal. Pasalic has been heavily linked with a move to Fiorentina, with a deal reportedly all but agreed between both clubs. The Croatian midfielder spent last season on loan at Spartak Moscow, but reports have suggested that his future lies elsewhere. A loan deal with the option to buy was reportedly agreed with Pasalic failing to do enough to convince the club to keep him beyond the summer. Pasalic arrived at the club with much anticipation but has been a serial loanee with spells at Elche, Monaco and Milan.
