Southampton were also heavily linked with a move for the player last season. Ernesto Valverde’s men are looking to trim their wage bill with several fringe players set to leave the club this summer. Barcelona are due to hold talks with the player’s representatives next week to resolve his future.

It’s claimed that Marcel Brands, Everton’s new director of football, held talks with representatives from Barcelona to negotiate a deal for Mina on Monday.
