Ajax boss delivers update on the club's pursuit of Dusan Tadic

Ajax boss delivers update on the club's pursuit of Dusan Tadic Ajax manager Erik ten Hag has been discussing his side’s pursuit of Southampton playmaker Dusan Tadic. The Eredivisie giants are looking to make Tadic their marquee signing this summer, with the player understood to be keen on a return to the Netherlands ahead of next season. Tadic enjoyed some of the best years of his career with FC Twente in the Eredivisie and he also enjoyed a positive spell with FC Groningen in his younger days. The 29-year-old is currently on international duty at the World Cup with his native Serbia but it seems pastures new will await him following his return to club football. Southampton reportedly want to make a significant profit through the sale of Tadic and are demanding close to £18m for the player, who joined them for £10.8m in the summer of 2014. Negotiations are continuing between Saints and Ajax and the Dutch club’s manager, Ten Hag, delivered an update on his side’s move for Tadic. As quoted by De Telegraaf, Ten Hag said: “It is no secret that we are interested (in signing Tadic). But I also learned that we must have signatures first before it is final. He clearly showed (against Switzerland) why he is a more than a suitable player for us. He can take Ajax by the hand.” “Ajax reports via the official channels when everything is complete. But as long as the signature is not set, it will not happen.

Liverpool are set to complete a deal to sign Ajax right-back Ki-Jana Hoever this week.

According to The Liverpool Echo, Hoever has been training with Liverpool’s academy this summer as the club eye up a deal to sign the youngster.

Hoever has been impressing for Ajax’s academy, attracting interest from Liverpool as they look to bolster their youth ranks.

The 16-year-old is a regular international for Holland’s under-16 side, where he has shown his quality at right-back.

He has also shown his versatility with Ajax, as he has lined up in the heart of the defence, as well as at fullback.

This comes after Liverpool completed the signing of Isaac Christie-Davies from Chelsea earlier this week on a free transfer.

The highly-rated youngster was snapped up by Liverpool after a trial with the club, much like Hoever is expected to.
