Arsenal boosted in transfer hunt as Fellaini wants to stay in the Premier League

Arsenal boosted in transfer hunt as Fellaini wants to stay in the Premier League Arsenal’s hopes of landing Marouane Fellaini from Manchester United this summer have been boosted by the news he would like to stay in England. According to a report from Belgian paper HLN, as cited on Sport Witness, the player is keen to remain in the Premier League as he prepares to become a free agent in the coming days. Manchester United have done all they can to try and keep the player at Old Trafford, but he has rejected two contract offers from the club. The Belgian international is thought to be on the hunt for regular game time and Arsenal have been credited with an interest for some time. There is also thought to be interest from clubs in both Turkey and the Chinese Super League. Losing a player to Arsenal would come as a huge blow to United boss Jose Mourinho, despite the Belgian not being a regular at Old Trafford last season.

Lucas Torreira will reportedly undergo a medical at Arsenal on Monday as he finally closes in on his move to London.

The Metro reports that the player has flown into London following Uruguay’s exit from the World Cup in Russia.

The Gunners have agreed to pay Sampdoria £26.4 million for the services of the midfielder who impressed during Uruguay’s route to the quarter-finals.

Torreira’s move has been expected to go through for some time but the deal was held up by the player’s participation at the World Cup.

Arsenal had hoped that they could do the medical out in Russia, something that regularly happens through international tournaments, but Torreira rejected that opportunity in order to stay focused on the task at hand.

Wilshere to have West Ham medical on Friday

Wilshere to have West Ham medical on Friday Jack Wilshere will reportedly undergo a medical at West Ham on Friday as he closes in on a free transfer to the London Stadium. Football London report that the routine medical checks are scheduled in for Friday following talks with the player. Both West Ham and Turkish side Fenerbahce have been linked with a move for the player, but it appears that the Hammers have stolen the march in the race to sign the player. The Hammers will be keen to run the rule of Wilshere’s physical condition given his checkered injury history. The player has agreed a three-year contract to join West Ham that is believed to be worth around £100,000 a week. Reports have suggested that the contract does take into consideration his injury record and is structured to reflect that. Football London claim that the player is expected to join up with the rest of the squad on their pre-season training camp should everything go to plan.

The player has confirmed that he could not put the move off any longer. Speaking to Telenoche at the Airport on Sunday prior to his flight to England, the player spoke about the opportunity he has to join Arsenal.

“I would have been very happy to be able to return to Uruguay with my teammates, but this is a fantastic opportunity [to join Arsenal] and I do not want to waste it.”

Arsenal youngster set to complete surprise £2m transfer .
Chuba Akpom is close to agreeing a £2 million permanent transfer away from Arsenal. The Independent reports that the player does not have a future at Arsenal and he is close to joining Belgian side Stint-Truiden. Akpom spent the second half of last season on loan at the Jupiler League side and impressed during his time in Belgium. Whilst on loan he netted six times, enough to convince them to sign him permanently. The report claims that there is also believed to be interest from clubs in France, with a deal expected to be completed either over the weekend or in the early stages of next week. A lot was expected of Akpom from a young age at Arsenal, but he has failed to realise his potential at the club. After making his debut the club he became something of a serial loanee, with spells at Nottingham Forest, Hull and Brighton.
