Everton propose swap deal in bid to land World Cup star

Everton propose swap deal in bid to land World Cup star Everton have reportedly lodged a bid to sign Domagoj Vida from Beskitas that would see Davy Klassen move in the opposite direction. According to reports from AMK Spor, as cited on Sport Witness, the Toffees are keen to land the Croatian defender this summer. The Turkish side are also keen to sign Klaassen, who has failed to impress since his move to the Premier League. It was previously reported that Besiktas were hoping to land the Dutch midfielder on loan, but this could open the opportunity for them to sign him on a permanent deal. There have been doubts over Klaassen’s long-term future at Goodison Park for some time and Marco Silva could look to sell this summer as he puts his own stamp on the Toffees squad. Everton have been linked with moves for Vida throughout the World Cup, with the 29-year-old putting in a number of impressive performances to help Croatia top Group D. There is also thought to be interest from Leicester, who are keen to sign Vida this summer.

The 23-year-old has often been lauded for his ability to play in a range of different positions across the back four but is widely perceived as a central defender. Bensebaïni made 29 appearances in Ligue 1 last season and impressed many with his displays, with Everton evidently being among those keen. The Toffees have not yet made a summer signing, but it seems they are focusing on defensive additions at this moment in time, with reports indicating that they will also submit a bid to sign Kieran Tierney from Celtic.

West Ham have offer rejected for Liverpool target Vida .
Liverpool target Domagoj Vida has been the subject of a €22m offer from West Ham. According to Aksam, via Sport Witness, Besiktas have turned down West Ham’s opening bid for the defender. The report claims that Besiktas are looking for a fee in the region of €25m for Vida, following his performances for Croatia at the World Cup. Vida was a key cog in Croatia’s side as they reached the final of the World Cup for the first time in their history – going on to lose 4-2 to France in Russia. Aksam claim that Vida wants to leave Besiktas and has told the Turkish giants of his ambition to play in the Premier League next season. Liverpool are yet to make an official approach for Vida, with Jurgen Klopp possibly eyeing other targets. Everton have also been previously linked with a move for the defender, but have also not yet made an offer.
