Tranmere 3-2 Liverpool: Quick Hit Notes

Tranmere 3-2 Liverpool: Quick Hit Notes Throughout the entire 2018/19 campaign, I’ll be re-watching the entire 90 minutes of every single Liverpool game, which is something I’ve been doing for games over the past few seasons anyway. As I re-watch, I take down some quick notes and, this year, I’ll be sharing some of those in article form here at Read Liverpool. The Reds continued their preparations for the 2018/19 season underway with a 3-2 victory over Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park. First-half goals from Rafa Camacho, Sheyi Ojo and Adam Lallana gave Liverpool a well-deserved lead at the break. However, the second-half team struggled and two errors, one by Loris Karius, the other by the combination of James Milner and Pedro Chirivella, gifted the home side two goals. Obviously, it’s tough to learn too much from a friendly game in which two separate XI’s are used, but there were a few things I did take from the match: Adam Lallana looked really fit and really sharp. He pressed as well as ever and he linked up well on the left with Andy Robertson and Ryan Kent. Injuries ruined Lallana’s 2017/18 campaign but it wasn’t too long ago that he was a vital cog in Jurgen Klopp’s side. His performance bodes well. Fabinho looks like the type of player who loves to keep the tempo of the game high. Almost every pass he made was hit the first-time ad he looked to keep the ball moving. Defensively, his positioning was very good and he made interceptions and defensive headers look very straightforward.

Loris Karius makes another AWFUL error during Liverpool friendly. Jonny Smith pounced on the rebound as Tranmere pulled within one goal of their Premier League opponents, leaving Karius to contemplate the consequences of another mistake.

Loris Karius once again found himself in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons as Liverpool defeated Tranmere Rovers at Prenton Park. The general reaction on Twitter shows the lack of faith in him & it’ll be a LOT worse inside Anfield as soon as he makes a goal-costing error , which (like all keepers)

Loris Karius made another mistake as Liverpool made it two wins from as many pre-season matches by beating Tranmere Rovers 3-2.

Rafael Camacho, Sheyi Ojo and Adam Lallana - the England midfielder captaining the side – were on target before the break at Prenton Park on Tuesday.

But after Karius was introduced at the interval he was beaten twice as the hosts battled back into the game, the German goalkeeper at fault for the first of their goals.

Karius, who cost Liverpool dearly with a pair of awful mistakes in the Champions League final against Real Madrid, spilled Ollie Norburn's free-kick and Jonny Smith scored on the rebound.

Amadou Soukouna grabbed another for the League Two side but Liverpool held on to follow up a 7-0 friendly win over Chester on Saturday, in which the former Mainz keeper played 45 minutes.

Ahead of that match, Jurgen Klopp said Karius was "100 per cent" influenced by concussion after a collision with Madrid captain Sergio Ramos during the Champions League final.
