Arsenal man delivers update on his situation at the club

Arsenal man delivers update on his situation at the club Arsenal man David Ospina has been discussing his current situation at the club, as per a report from the Mirror. The Gunners goalkeeper has been heavily linked with an exit from the Emirates this summer, with the likes of Fenerbahce having reportedly expressed a strong interest in signing him. Ospina is facing an uncertain future in North London, with the competition for first-team places under Unai Emery increasing. Arsenal signed Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen in recent times and it’s likely that the German international will step in as the club’s number one goalkeeper, leaving Petr Cech as the deputy shot-stopper. This could spell the end of Ospina’s career with the Gunners, as it is somewhat unlikely that he will want to settle for being a third-choice goalkeeper as he approaches his 30s. The Colombian international was coy when discussing his future at Arsenal and was eager to dismiss speculation until after the World Cup. “I know that Arsenal signed a new goalkeeper, but I’m now focused on the national team and after the World Cup I will think what to do next.

Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina is being targeted by Boca Juniors. But Ospina is set to be the man to make way as he waits to return to pre-season following Colombia's World Cup quarter-final exit to England.

Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina could be set for a move away from the Emirates this summer, with Argentine side Boca Juniors targeting the Columbia international, the Mirror reports.

Ospina is valued at £6m by the Gunners, with Boca Juniors showing heavy interest in the player.

Ospina is set to find game time hard to come by at the Emirates this season after the Gunners completed the signing of Bayer Leverkusen shot stopper Bernd Leno.

The Columbia international still has two years left on his current deal in North London but Arsenal are said to be willing to let him leave the club this summer.

The battle for the No.1 spot is set to be a tight one between Leno and Petr Cech, who looks as though he will remain in North London for another season.

Arsenal goalkeeper confirms he has had offers this summer

Arsenal goalkeeper confirms he has had offers this summer Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech has confirmed that Napoli have bid for him this summer, but he insists he is committed to the Gunners. The former Chelsea star ‘keeper has had a less than stellar 18 months with the North London side, and Arsenal were frequently linked with a new and younger goalkeeper for most of the season. Now, Unai Emery’s men have added Germany international and former Bayer Leverkusen man Bernd Leno to their squad, seemingly ending Cech’s run as starting man at the Emirates. While some fans have perceived Leno’s purchase as a move which pushes Cech out of the door, the Czech shot-stopper has declared his “future is at Arsenal”, despite interest from the Partenopei. Napoli have seen goalkeepers Pepe Reina and Luigi Sepe leave this summer, and were targeting Cech as the more experienced option in a plan to sign a young ‘keeper and an older ‘keeper this summer. Talking to reporters in the Czech Republic, Cech confirmed Napoli’s interest, reported by FootballItalia as saying: “There was interest from Napoli, it’s true, but my future is at Arsenal.” “I am not thinking about a change of club. Now there are three in competition for the Arsenal gloves and I am ready.

Ospina is yet to return to pre-season training with the rest of Unai Emery’s squad following Columbia’s World Cup defeat to England.

Ospina’s agent spoke of his player’s situation in North London earlier this week.

“David has had an excellent World Cup, it has been very important for him, it is not a lie for anyone to say that he finds himself uncomfortable in Arsenal”

“There are several clubs interested in David, but leaving Arsenal is not easy because they’re team that pays well and asks a lot for the player, and we must add that he has a contract for two more years.”

“The priority is Europe, but as I say, we have to wait.”

Chelsea not interested in Arsenal shot-stopper .
Chelsea are not interested in signing Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech this summer, despite reports. According to Football London, Chelsea are not set to make an approach for Cech over the coming weeks. The report claims that no club has made a move for Cech yet, with the shot-stopper focussing on his duties for Arsenal. Chelsea are expected to sell Thibaut Courtois to Real Madrid this summer, with Petr Cech having been linked as a possible replacement for the Belgian. However, this does not appear to be the case and Chelsea are likely to look elsewhere for a new number one. Cech has been with Arsenal for three seasons since his move to the club from Chelsea, where he made the best part of 500 appearances. The 36-year-old has made 117 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions and looks set to leave the club this summer. Bernd Leno has been brought in to replace the veteran goalkeeper.
