Chelsea could swoop for Jorginho to help lure Sarri from Napoli

Chelsea could swoop for Jorginho to help lure Sarri from Napoli Chelsea could make a big-money move to pip Manchester City to the signing of Napoli star Jorginho, according to reports from Italy. The Blues are in the process of pushing to appoint Maurizio Sarri as the club’s new manager but are still locked in talks with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis, despite the Italian having been sacked last month. Although Sarri’s €8m release clause at the Stadio San Paolo has reached its expiration, he is still technically under contract at Napoli, thereby leading Chelsea to continue talks with the Serie A club over releasing him from his deal. This is where a potential deal for Jorginho comes in, with Sport Italia (h/t Football Italia) indicating that a €60m deal for the midfielder would act as a sweetener in Chelsea’s pursuit to convince Napoli to release Sarri. City have been desperate to close a deal for Jorginho but at the eleventh hour, it seems Chelsea could swoop, with Sport Italia believing that this would enable smoother negotiations with Napoli regarding the deal for Sarri.

Paris United claim that PSG sporting director Antero Henrique has identified Morata as one of his main summer targets. No fee has been mentioned, but it would take a huge offer to tempt Chelsea into selling considering Chelsea reach £4.4m deal with Napoli to buyout Maurizio Sarri contract. CAGED LION.

Napoli are considering a move for Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata this summer, according to Rai Sport, via Calcio Mercato.

The report claims that Napoli could look to replace Dries Mertens with Morata over the coming months.

Dries Mertens has attracted interest from his performances over the last couple of seasons in the Serie A, but lost his place in the starting line-up for Belgium over the course of the World Cup this summer.

If Mertens does move on, Napoli will look to make an offer for Morata, who joined Chelsea last summer from Real Madrid for a fee in the region of £60m – a club-record deal.

Chelsea finalising double deal for Sarri and Jorginho

Chelsea finalising double deal for Sarri and Jorginho Chelsea are set to complete the double swoop of Napoli manager Maurizio Sarri and the Italian side’s star player Jorginho, the telegraph reports. Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has claimed that the £50million double swoop is close to completion. Talks have been ongoing between Chelsea and Napoli for the Blues to appoint Sarri as current manager Antonio Conte’s successor since the end of last season. It now seems that the two sides are set to agree a £50m fee, plus £7m in bonuses, to take both Sarri and midfielder Jorginho to Stamford Bridge. Manchester City had been widely expected all summer to sign Jorginho, and they are yet to give up on trying to gain his signature with personal terms between the player and City having already been agreed. De Laurentiis spoke of the negotiations between Chelsea and Napoli nearing a solution. “The Sarri deal is in the homestretch, it depends on him.” “I’ve laid down my conditions. It’s all in the hands of lawyers. Jorginho? We said to ourselves, ‘if Jorginho has any requests, we’ll take them into account.’” “For that, I’ll have to apologise to Manchester City. However, if the player would rather live in London than Manchester, I can understand that.” “If Chelsea are paying him even more, I can understand that too. Jorginho and Sarri together again? Jorginho would go to Chelsea regardless of Sarri.” Chelsea are still yet to terminate the final year of Conte’s managerial contract, which is worth £9m, but it is looking increasingly likely that the Italian will not be in the Chelsea dug out come the start of the new season.

Chelsea to hold Higuain talks on Wednesday .
Chelsea will be holding talks with Gonzalo Higuain’s agent on Wednesday to discuss a summer deal. The London Evening Standard reports that Chelsea are due to speak to Nicolas Higuain, his brother, who also acts as his agent over a £53 million deal. A three-year deal is believed to be in place that would Higuain pocket around £127,000 a week. Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for the Juventus striker, with the Old Lady preparing to sell the forward this summer. The former Real Madrid man is looking increasingly likely to leave the club following the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo. The striker is one of Juventus’ biggest earners and they hope to recoup just over £50 million from a summer sale. A move for Higuain would cast further doubts over the future of Alvaro Morata, who is believed to be a target for several sides in Italy. Milan, Inter, Napoli and Juventus have all been touted as possible destinations for the Spaniard.
