Olympiacos have announced the signing of Wolves defender Roderick Miranda on loan.

The Portuguese centre-back moved to Molineux from Rio Ave in 2017 and was a regular for the Championship winners in the early months of the 2017-18 season.

However, the 27-year-old fell out of favour in the second half of the campaign, making just two league appearances in 2018 under Nuno Espirito Santo.

Roderick will hope to be more involved at Olympiacos, having joined the Greek club on a season-long deal.

He was first choice for Rio Ave before moving to England, playing 37 times in the 2016-17 season, his fourth with the Primeira Liga club.

Previously, Roderick was on the books of Benfica, but played just seven league games over the course of four seasons and instead was loaned out to Switzerland and Spain in order to get more first-team experience.

Wolves kick off their 2018-19 Premier League campaign on August 11 against Everton, before travelling to Leicester seven days later.

They face a real test on August 25 when they welcome Premier League champions Manchester City to Molineux Stadium.

Wolves not interested in West Ham target Mawson .
West Ham have been given a boost in their hopes of landing Swansea City defender Alfie Mawson, with the news that Wolves are not interested in the player. Local Wolves paper Express and Star have reported that Wolves are not in the running to sign the Swansea City star this summer. Previous reports that emerged yesterday claimed that the player was a target for the newly-promoted Premier League side. Wolves are set for a busy summer as they prepare for Premier League football at Molineux. Due to their links with super agent Jorge Mendes, a host of players have seen themselves linked with a move to the club. West Ham had been linked with a double move for both Mawson and Lukasz Fabianski, who joined the club earlier this month. Mawson has attracted a number of clubs after an impressive campaign for Swansea, despite their relegation down to the Championship.
