Andre Ingram is eager to stay in Los Angeles, especially now that King James has arrived.

In a Tuesday interview with The Undefeated, the 32-year-old said he hopes to receive an invite to attend Lakers training camp, adding that making the team's opening-night roster "would mean everything" to him.

"There is always the next thing, the next goal," Ingram said. "Training camp is the next thing, then playing well and doing well for your team, then the next thing and the next thing. That is how it always is. Being on the [opening-day] roster would mean just as much as playing those last two games."

Ingram, who spent a decade in the G League, stole the show in the Lakers' loss to the Rockets on April 10 as he scored 19 points and recorded three blocks in his NBA debut. His historic performance was so impressive, he drew "MVP" chants with eventual MVP winner James Harden present.

"Obviously, people come up to you and say, 'That game was great,'" Ingram said. "I don’t think I will truly be able to appreciate how big of a moment that was, not only for myself but for others, until I’m removed from it."

Ingram also played in the Lakers' regular-season finale win over the Clippers the next day, logging five points, six assists and three rebounds.
