Why is Ken Giles at Triple-A?: 'To get my groove back, that’s all I’m here to do' Ken Giles was demoted to Triple-A by the Astros after surrendering three runs while recording no outs in a game July 10."Trying to get my groove back," he told the Albuquerque Journal Friday. "That's all I'm here to do.

That blast came off Astros reliever Ken Giles , who came in after eight masterful innings from Justin Verlander. Giles , however, didn't have as much luck on the evening, and wound up taking the loss. After being lifted from the game by manager A . J . Hinch

Talk about a knockout punch.

Less than 24 hours following some harsh words were shared — apparently flung from Ken Giles' mouth Astros' manager A.J. Hinch — the Astros reliever is packing his things and heading to Triple-A Fresno, the team announced on Wednesday.

Cameras caught Giles spewing some (seemingly) bad words directed towards Hinch as Hinch pulled Giles following a less-than-stellar outing on Tuesday night vs. the A's. Giles allowed three straight singles in the top of the ninth.

A.J. Hinch on Ken Giles' outburst: 'It if turns out it was at me, we'll talk about it' The Astros had a 4-0 lead going into the ninth inning, but Ken Giles wasn't able to hold it.He was so unhappy, he appeared to yell an expletive at Astros manager A.J. Hinch on his way off the mound. It's unclear what exactly was said, but he certainly had some choice words for his manager. Twitter user @ScottEMarvin first pointed the incident out.

Andrew Jay Hinch (born May 15, 1974) is an American professional baseball coach and former catcher who is currently the manager for the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball (MLB). Prior to joining the Astros , Hinch played as catcher for the Oakland Athletics (1998–2000), Kansas City Royals

Kenneth Robert Giles (born September 20, 1990) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball (MLB).

The A's would eventually tie the game, but the Astros would walk off on a bizarre Alex Bregman infield hit.

Talk about it they did, as Giles is likely on a plane to California right now.

Giles has had a poor year, pitching to a 4.99 ERA in 2018 and a 1.272 WHIP. He also punched himself in the face following a poor outing vs. the Yankees earlier in the season.
