He featured 21 times for Lorient last season and is very highly thought of back in France.

N’Zonzi is a player that he knows well from his time managing Sevilla.

After impressing following his move from Stoke, N’Zonzi has often been linked with moves away from the La Liga outfit, but no deal has ever materialised.

For the Spaniard first impressions played a big part in his successful audition for the job and he set about making new ones as he introduced himself.

Juventus have been linked with the player in the past, but the arrival of Emre Can in Turin means the Old Lady are unlikely to make a move this summer.

Emery has been busy in the transfer market following his arrival. Stephan Lichtsteiner, Bernd Leno, Sokratis, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi have all joined the club this summer.
