  Fabregas takes a cheeky dig at Spurs Cesc Fabregas has never been shy to throw a cheeky dig or two towards Tottenham fans in the past. Having played for both Arsenal and Chelsea, he knows his fair share about London rivalries. Fabregas recently took to Twitter to show the official account of the Europa League following him after Chelsea failed to qualify for the Champions League, something that prompted quite a reaction from Spurs fans. The Spanish midfielder was up to his old tricks once again when a Tottenham supporter urged him to make the move to Spurs. Despite falling out of favour under head coach Antonio Conte last season, Fabregas has remained a popular figure at Chelsea. The former Barcelona midfielder is highly thought of by many in the game and it remains to be seen what role he could play at Stamford Bridge next season, with Maurizio Sarri expected to replace Conte.

Cesc Fabregas appears to have confirmed Antonio Conte's departure from Chelsea by posting a message of thanks to the Italian on social media.

Widespread reports emerged in England and Italy on Thursday that the Blues had dismissed Conte after two seasons in charge.

The Premier League outfit are yet to make a statement on the speculation but are believed to be preparing to install former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri as his successor.

In a post to Twitter, Fabregas wrote: "Thank you Mister for another Premier League title and FA Cup.

"It wasn't easy to convince you in the beginning but in the end I hope I did you proud! Good luck for the future."

Conte led Chelsea to the title in his first season in London before his tenure turned sour last term over rumoured frustration with the club's transfer policy.
