French giants line up swoop for Everton goalkeeper

French giants line up swoop for Everton goalkeeper Lille are considering making an offer to Everton for backup goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg, according to a report from France Football. The 35-year-old joined Everton in 2016 but the arrival of Jordan Pickford last summer means he has very little chance of earning a starting role at Goodison Park in the near future. Lille are looking for a backup goalkeeper of their own as they look for somebody to act as a number two behind their first-choice shot-stopper Mike Maignan and they are considering making a move for Stekelenburg. Whether Everton would be willing to let the former Dutch international leave at this moment in time remains to be seen as they’ve already let Joel Robles leave to sign for Real Betis. However, if the Blues can find another backup, perhaps one who’ll be on a smaller salary then Stekelenburg, then they will likely allow him to leave, should he decide that he fancies making a move to France.

Everton had previously had a £20m bid for the former Southampton midfielder rejected earlier this month but they have finally met United’s valuation of the Frenchman and a deal is now expected to be completed in the next 48 hours.

The Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, is also a huge admirer of the powerful midfielder and club officials have been discussing whether to launch a formal bid for several weeks, having indicated they would be willing to pay €25m (£21m) at the end of December.

Everton have reportedly had a big-money offer for Watford star Abdoulaye Doucoure rejected.

According to claims from French news outlet RMC Sport, the Toffees made a bid worth €25 million along with €5m in additional bonuses for the powerful midfielder, but have seen their efforts rebuffed.

Docuoure enjoyed a hugely impressive season at Vicarage Road and was one of the Hornets’ standout performers.

He was a mainstay under Marco Silva before he was dismissed at the club and according to recent reports, the new Everton boss would love to reunite with Doucoure on Merseyside.

Everton's hopes of signing AC Milan man suffer a blow

Everton's hopes of signing AC Milan man suffer a blow It was reported on Thursday that Everton were closing in on the permanent signing of AC Milan midfielder Andrea Bertolacci. The 27-year-old was believed to be on the verge of a €6 million switch to the Premier League after enjoying a strong season on loan at Serie A outfit Genoa last term. Bertolacci’s tenure at Milan has not been a wholly successful one, with his progress and earlier promise halted and stymied by a succession of injury issues. It had appeared certain that Milan would offload the midfielder this summer, with Everton waiting with open arms. However, according to new reports from Italy, the Serie A giants could now aim to retain Bertolacci’s services for the upcoming season. It’s believed that after further observations and analysis in training sessions, Milan boss Gennaro Gattuso has been impressed by Bertolacci and would be keen to keep hold of him for the foreseeable future. Everton are yet to make a single signing this summer, and it seems they have suffered a blow in their hopes of landing Bertolacci from Milan.

Everton have failed with an improved bid for Werder Bremen midfielder Thomas Delaney, according to the Liverpool Echo. Manchester Giants Prepare to Battle Over French Sensation as PSG Face Financial Fair Play Nightmare.

EVERTON have been left frustrated again in their attempts to land Werder Bremen star Thomas Delaney after having an improved £8million bid rejected. The deal allowed the midfielder to stay in Denmark until this month, but Koeman pushed for a deal to be concluded before Delaney made is

The 25-year-old is well-loved by Watford fans and following such a promising breakthrough season in the Premier League, it seems Everton were willing to break the bank to land him this summer.

However, it’s believed by RMC Sport that Doucoure remains keen to prove himself in the top-flight of English football on a consistent basis, with the player open to staying put with Watford in the short-term.
