PITTSBURGH -- After the Brewers -Pirates game on Thursday, Major League Baseball announced that lights-out reliever Jeremy Jeffress was named to his first career All - Star team. The Brewers now have a franchise-record five All - Stars .

Brewers relief pitcher Jeremy Jeffress was named to the National League All-Star roster Thursday, marking the team's franchise-record fifth player on the squad.

Jeffress joined teammate outfielders Christian Yelich and Lorenzo Cain, Jesus Aguilar and fellow reliever Josh Hader on the NL roster.

So far this season, Jeffress is 6-1 with three saves and a 0.99 ERA in 45 1/3 innings. He also has 47 strikeouts and a sterling 0.84 WHIP.

Despite riding a two-game losing streak, the Brewers still hold a one-game lead over the Cubs in the NL Central.

Milwaukee would move current starting third baseman Travis Shaw to second if they land Moustakas, according to a report from MLB Network. Shaw has recorded a .246 batting average with 19 home runs and 59 RBIs this season. The Brewers acquired reliever Joakim Soria from the White Sox earlier this week.
