Nationals rookie Juan Soto was just trying to help.

Home plate umpire Greg Gibson wasn't looking for any assistance though so he kindly rejected Soto's commentary and ejected the 19-year-old from Washington's 8-3 loss to the Braves.

Again though, Soto was just attempting to help Gibson be better. After the teenager was called out on strikes in his fourth inning at-bat, he came to the plate in the sixth with something to say.

He told Gibson the pitch he was called out on was inside.

Gibson disagreed and promptly showed Soto the door.

Soto explained the exchange after the game telling MLB.com he wanted to "make sure he can understand and be better."

Gibson may not have understood Soto's goal, but the Dominican fully understood what the home plate umpire meant with his response.

This is the first time Soto has ever been ejected from a game at any level.
