Celtic will sign free agent defender Emile Legault before the transfer window closes, according to a report from Get French Football News.

The 18-year-old is a free agent after running down his deal at Auxerre and Celtic, sticking to their policy of recruiting young players, have offered him the chance to join up with the Scottish champions.

GFFN report that the Canadian will become the newest Celtic player once all of the relevent paperwork is submitted.

Whether the teenager will feature with the first-team or the club’s youth set up remains to be seen, although it is likely that he’ll go into the development squad at first as he ajusts to life as a Celtic player.

It was reported back in June that the defender had put pen to paper on a deal with Celtic but it appears that he was just on trial at the club, but he will offically become a Celt in the next few hours.

Celtic reject Porto's £13.5m offer for Olivier Ntcham .
Celtic have rejected Porto’s £13.5m offer for Olivier Ntcham, according to reports. Although the 22-year-old is apparently interested in making the move to Portugal, Celtic have no interest in selling him having let Stuart Armstrong join Southampton earlier this summer. Porto offered the Scottish champions £13.5m, plus an additional sell-on fee for the French U21 international but it was rejected. Reports suggest that Ntcham will tell Celtic that he would like to leave at some point in the near future but he is under contract until 2021, so the club holds the cards in this situation. Celtic’s failure to qualify for the Champions League group stages is set to be a factor in Ntcham wanting to join Porto, but Brendan Rodgers is keen to keep hold of one of his regular first-team players. Having paid Manchester City a reported £4.5 million fee to sign Ntcham in 2017, Celtic could make three times that amount back with a sale but as it stands, they no intention of doing that.
