Bakayoko joins Milan .
Chelsea have confirmed that French midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko has joined AC Milan on loan following a disappointing first season in London. As per the official club website, Bakayoko will spend the season in Milan, who are also believed to have an option to buy the player on a permanent basis next summer. Reports have suggested that Milan will pay around €5 million for the player and could pay a further €35 million next summer. It was expected that the player would fall out of favour under Maurizio Sarri, with some claims suggesting that he was deemed ‘too physical’ for the style of play that he wanted to implement at Stamford Bridge. The arrival of both Jorginho and N’Golo Kante meant that game time was likely to be limited. Bakayoko was a big-money signing from AS Monaco, with the Blues earmarking him as a long-term replacement for Nemanja Matic, who was sold to Manchester United.
