Dodgers closer Kenley Jansen, hospitalized Thursday in Denver because of an irregular heartbeat, was sent back to Los Angeles where he will meet Friday with his cardiologist for more tests, manager Dave Roberts said (via MLB.com).

Jansen didn't feel well at the team hotel and never made it to Coors Field for the Dodgers' 8-5 win, and afterward Roberts said there is no timetable for the right-hander's return.

"Any time you're talking about the heart, we obviously have to be very careful with it," Roberts told reporters. "And then we're talking about altitude, so that's why we wanted to be proactive and get him back there. We're holding out hope that it's not too serious, but talking to the trainer right now, his mood is fine, you wouldn't know the difference, and once we get more testing, we'll know more."

Jansen is tied for the NL lead with 32 saves this season. The Dodgers used Scott Alexander to close the ninth Thursday.

Roberts was unsure if the Dodgers would make a roster move to bolster their bullpen for the rest of the four-game series in Denver.
