Bluebirds will attempt to sign Chelsea's Ethan Ampadu on loan

Bluebirds will attempt to sign Chelsea's Ethan Ampadu on loan Cardiff City manager Neil Warnock has revealed he will contact Chelsea about the possibility of signing young star Ethan Ampadu on loan. ITV Wales report that Warnock is impressed with the teenager’s ability and would like to give him first-team football in the top flight. Ampadu, who turns 18 today, impressed during the international break with Wales, starring in his country’s 4-1 demolition of the Republic of Ireland. However, the central midfielder is yet to even make the bench in the Premier League under Maurizio Sarri this season. Speaking about the player, Warnock said: “I will be speaking to somebody at Chelsea about one or two things. I think they should loan him (Ampadu) to us and I could help him as well.” “He doesn’t look out of place. What I like about him is that he is so confident.” Cardiff travel to London to take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge tomorrow, where the Bluebirds will be looking to record their first win of the season. Any deal for Ampadu could be hindered by the fact that Warnock publicly criticised Chelsea earlier this week for not allowing Tammy Abraham to join Cardiff on loan this summer. Ampadu joined Chelsea last summer from Exeter City, and a fee of up to £2.5m was eventually set by a tribunal for the player.

Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock says he wants to sign Ethan Ampadu on loan from Chelsea during the January transfer window.

Warnock, who was speaking to BBC Radio Wales, explained why he rates the youngster so highly.

“I think they should loan us him. What I like about him is that he is so confident.”

“He plays the game simple. He will have to quicken up a little bit when he gets higher up because he will get caught. But that’s the whole object of playing games really.”

“He will get that by playing games. When you play with the type of players he has to play with it does help for his education. They have good players who could do with playing and if they could get a game in the Premier League I think it would help their development really.”

It has already been claimed that Ampadu could leave the club on loan during the January window should his game time not increase.

The Welsh youngster is very highly thought of at the club and was ever present during the pre-season campaign, but he is yet to nail down a position with the Blues.

Interest in his performances has mounted after he starred for Ryan Giggs’ Wales side during the recent international break.

Warnock may be wary that he openly revealed his admiration for the player just days after accusing the Blues of ‘lacking class’ for the way they let Tammy Abraham join Aston Villa instead of Cardiff.

Ethan Ampadu wants Chelsea chance .
Chelsea’s young Welsh star Ethan Ampadu wants more chance to impress for the Blues first team, according to Goal.com. The youngster impressed on international duty with Wales, despite having limited first team experience with the Blues. Ampadu had made some appearances for the Blues last season under Antonio Conte, but has failed to feature so far this season. Speaking after Wales dispatched the Republic of Ireland 4-1 in the UEFA Nations League, Ampadu said he does want more opportunities, and that he wants to show Maurizio Sarri what he can do. “You could say there’s been frustration on one hand, but at the same time I’m getting experience training with the players.” “I’m just trying to improve to get into the team. This season’s plans are this season’s plans and at the moment I’ve just to keep improving to try and get in the team.” “I want to show the manager what I can do.” Ampadu will be in international action again next week, as they take on Denmark in Aahrus.
