“I will be speaking to somebody at Chelsea about one or two things. I think they should loan him (Ampadu) to us and I could help him as well.”

“He doesn’t look out of place. What I like about him is that he is so confident.”

Cardiff travel to London to take on Chelsea at Stamford Bridge tomorrow, where the Bluebirds will be looking to record their first win of the season.

Any deal for Ampadu could be hindered by the fact that Warnock publicly criticised Chelsea earlier this week for not allowing Tammy Abraham to join Cardiff on loan this summer.

Ampadu joined Chelsea last summer from Exeter City, and a fee of up to £2.5m was eventually set by a tribunal for the player.

Ampadu to leave Chelsea on loan in January window .
Ethan Ampadu will reportedly be loaned out by Chelsea in the January transfer window, according to reports in Italy. Calciomercato claims that Chelsea have taken the decision to loan him out in a bid to find him regular first-team football. The Welsh youngster was on the fringes of the first-team squad last season under Antonio Conte and has impressed once again under Maurizio Sarri. He was a regular during pre-season, playing alongside David Luiz in the heart of the Chelsea defence. Many tipped him to break into the squad this season, but he is yet to do so in the first four games of the Premier League. The Welsh international sent a clear message to Sarri during the week with an excellent performance for his country against the Republic of Ireland. Ampadu earned rave reviews for his performance in the middle of the park, with many urging Sarri to give the player a chance.
