The Dolphins started off their 2018 season with a notch in the win column — but it came at a price.

The team will be without left guard Josh Sitton for the remainder of the year, a league source told the Miami Herald .

Sitton, 32, tore his left rotator cuff in the second half of Sunday's 27-20 victory over the Titans and will undergo season-ending surgery to fix the problem, the report said.

The Dolphins will slide veteran Ted Larsen, who started eight games in 2017, into the starting lineup to fill the void in Sitton's absence.

It's unclear exactly when the four-time Pro Bowl player was injured, but team doctors told him this week if he tried to keep playing without surgery, he could suffer career-threatening damage.

A fourth-round draft pick by the Packers in 2008, Sitton also spent time with the Bears before joining the Dolphins in free agency this offseason.
