  Cubs' Addison Russell suspended 40 games by MLB Addison Russell has agreed to MLB's suspension and will not appeal.“My office has completed its investigation into the allegations that Addison Russell violated Major League Baseball’s Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy," Manfred said in a statement released by MLB. "Having reviewed all of the available evidence, I have concluded that Mr. Russell violated the Policy and should be subject to discipline in the form of an unpaid suspension that will cover 40 games.

Welsh snooker player Jamie Jones has been suspended from the World Snooker Tour for alleged breaches of betting rules.

The 30-year-old is alleged to have been party to, or facilitated the manipulation of, the outcome of David John's match with 2006 world champion Graeme Dott in September 2016.

Following a WPBSA investigation, Jones will be suspended from the World Tour with immediate effect - with the suspension in place until the conclusion of the hearing and the determination of this matter. The Welshman has the right to appeal.
