Charlie Colkett has returned to Chelsea for treatment on an injury sustained on loan at Shrewsbury Town.

The Shropshire Star reports that the player has returned to Cobham and will miss this weekend’s game against Fleetwood.

The injury is not considered serious and the player is likely to return to Shrewsbury in the not too distant future, despite falling out of favour at the League One club.

Colkett joined Shrewsbury on loan during the summer in a bid to get some regular game time under his belt and get his stalling career back on track, however, he has not started for the club since the first day of the season.

The midfielder missed a lot of football last season after returning to Chelsea from a loan spell in the Eredivisie early.

The once-promising midfielder has struggled to replicate his form at a senior level after failing to impress during his time away from the club.

Colkett has endured spells on loan at Bristol Rovers, Swindon, Vitesse and now Shrewsbury.

Mane returns ahead of Red Star clash.
After being ruled out of Saturday’s clash with Huddersfield, Liverpool forward Sadio Mane has returned to training after overcoming a hand injury. Mane, who has four goals already for the Reds this season, will be a huge positive for Jurgen Klopp as he looks to pick a side capable of being calm and composed against a Red Star team who will look to sit back and frustrate Liverpool. During the international break, he played a crucial part in Senegal’s 3-0 victory over Sudan but was ruled out for the return leg in Khartoum as a precautionary step. In the Liverpool camp, there was a clear reluctance to risk Mane, meaning he didn’t travel to Huddersfield. However, on Wednesday night Liverpool need to pick up three important points and it seems Mane will return. Goal’s Neil Jones, a source close to Liverpool, has stated than Mane should be fit for the Red Star encounter. Twitter: Sadio Mane set to return to #LFC training today after his hand injury.
