Galatasaray keen on loan swoop for Origi

Galatasaray keen on loan swoop for Origi Galatasaray are eyeing up a loan swoop for Liverpool outcast Divock Origi in the January transfer window. According to ESPN, Galatasaray have already approached Liverpool over a deal for Origi. They are unable to pursue a permanent deal due to FFP regulations, but they will be able to secure a move until the end of the season. Origi has made one appearance for Liverpool this season, which came as a substitute in the 2-0 defeat to Red Star Belgrade in the Champions League. Roberto Firmino and Daniel Sturridge are Jurgen Klopp’s first-choice strikers and he looks ready to sanction a loan move for Origi in January. The Belgian forward has scored 21 goals for Liverpool since his move to the club from Lille in 2015. He has been capped 25 times by his country and scored three times – for the side now managed by ex-Everton boss Roberto Martinez.

Twitter: Galatasaray have made contact with Liverpool over a January loan for Divock Origi (@DeanJonesBR) Origi has failed to break into the first-team picture this season at Anfield, managing just two appearances off the bench in the Reds’ Champions League fixtures with Napoli and Red Star Belgrade. The Belgian international spent last season on loan with Wolfsburg and despite getting the game time he needed, he could only manage six goals in 36 appearances. With Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Daniel Sturridge all ahead of Origi in the pecking order in terms of players to lead the line for Liverpool, it looks a matter of time before the 23-year-old leaves the club. Liverpool would prefer to cash in on the forward, and Wolves are said to be interested in him, but a loan move certainly isn’t off the cards at this point.

Shaqiri "very happy" at Liverpool with "more to come".
In an interview on Liverpool’s website, Shaqiri has expressed his happiness about the start to his Liverpool career, and insisted there is “more to come”. The Swiss international has forged his way into Jurgen Klopp’s side with a series of impressive displays, yielding a goal and four assists. The 27 year old says he is “very happy” at Liverpool. “The process is going very well – I think you can see that also on the pitch. I’m very happy to be here and I’m settling in very well, but I think it’s going to be much, much better the longer I settle in” Shaqiri also stated the impact his manager has had since his arrival from Stoke. “The coach has helped me a lot to improve and that’s the most important thing… I’m learning a lot under Jurgen and I’m very happy” Despite not making his first start until the latter part of September, it is patience and speaking with Klopp that helped Shaqiri stay focused. “I think you need patience always in your life, so [you need it] in football too. I knew my time would come and I spoke a lot with the coach, with Jurgen, so it was important for me to have good conversations” Having missed the Champions League trip to Red Star Belgrade over political issues, it is expected that Shaqiri will start against Fulham and be the catalyst to help the Reds bounce back to winning ways.
