Manchester City chasing Everton target Wan-Bissaka

Manchester City chasing Everton target Wan-Bissaka Everton target and Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka is reportedly now a target for Premier League giants Manchester City, according to the Mirror. Wan-Bissaka has cemented his place in Palace’s starting line-up this season after emerging as a promising player towards the back-end of the previous campaign under Roy Hodgson. The right-back’s performances for the Eagles have earned him plenty of plaudits and, according to recent reports, plenty of potential suitors as well. Wan-Bissaka has been a standout performer for Palace throughout the opening stages of the season so far, which has evidently alerted the interest of Pep Guardiola. Manchester City are well-stocked with right-sided defensive options, with Kyle Walker and Danilo at Guardiola’s disposal at the moment. However, it seems Wan-Bissaka has been identified as a player with immense potential, subsequently piquing the interest of City, according to the claims from the Mirror. Everton were linked with a move for Wan-Bissaka in recent times, but the youngster is contracted to Crystal Palace until 2022.

Aaron Wan - Bissaka (born 26 November 1997) is an English professional footballer who plays for Premier League club Crystal Palace as a defender.

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson is unconcerned over reports linking Aaron Wan-Bissaka with a move to Manchester City.

The Eagles manager discussed the young right-back’s future at Selhurst Park during his pre-match press conference ahead of Palace’s encounter with Tottenham Hotspur.

As quoted by Football London, Hodgson was quick to insist that he has no concerns over the prospect of Wan-Bissaka departing South London. The former England boss said:

“I always wonder when I hear or see those reports what Kyle Walker and Danilo are thinking. It is very easy to link anybody with anybody. I have no idea if there is any truth in it – you would have to ask Pep Guardiola but I doubt he would give you an answer.”

Wan-Bissaka nursing shoulder injury

Wan-Bissaka nursing shoulder injury Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka is currently nursing a shoulder injury. The Eagles star sustained the problem during Palace’s recent outing with Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday evening, as Juan Foyth netted to hand his side an away victory at Selhurst Park. Wan-Bissaka had been called up to the England Under-21 squad ahead of their upcoming international ventures. However, as confirmed by Palace, the defender will not be linking up with the Young Lions as he awaits a diagnosis on his injury. Wan-Bissaka has been a key player for Roy Hodgson’s side this season and has cemented his place in the starting line-up. The youngster performances have earned him international recognition and it had been likely that Wan-Bissaka would play an involved role for the England Under-21s during the ongoing international break.

The sending-off of Aaron Wan - Bissaka (£4.1m) has had a big impact on managers' preparations for Gameweek 3 of Fantasy Premier League. His ban for the red card against Liverpool is for just one match so Wan - Bissaka ’s 21 per cent owners should keep him in their squad and look to bench him

“As far as we are concerned we have him as our player and he is under contract with us and we have no desire or intention of selling him, so it is not anything that occupies my waking moments, or sleeping moments either for that matter.”

Wan-Bissaka has established himself as a key part of Hodgson’s plans for the season ahead and has caught the eyes of many with some cultured displays for Palace.

In recent times, City have been linked with a swoop for the player, who is currently contracted to Palace until the summer of 2022 following his recent extension at the club.

Nevertheless, Hodgson does not appear to be fazed by the reports linking Wan-Bissaka with a move away, as the youngster continues to impress.

Ward back in training ahead of Spurs clash.
Football London report Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson could welcome Joel Ward back to the starting lineup this week, as his side prepare to take on Spurs on Saturday evening. The prime-time encounter will see a Palace team that have made a largely indifferent start to the season take on a Spurs outfit who have not had the easiest time of it themselves in recent weeks. A 2-2 draw against Arsenal stands as perhaps the highlight of the campaign thus far, although many Palace fans would have left frustrated, given the dubious nature of Aubameyang’s goal. And by dubious, I of course mean Alexandre Lacazette’s expert volleyball smash to set his strike partner up. Palace’s defence has shipped 16 goals through 11 matches, and the reintroduction of Ward could make them stronger still. The 29-year-old has missed the last three matches with a muscle issue, and has appeared just four times this term. However, his inclusion may come at the cost of Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The youngster has been filling in at right-back in the absence of Ward, and has done a superb job in relief. If Hodgson wants to allow Wan-Bissaka the chance to keep improving, the 20-year-old could get the nod against Spurs. If the former England manager thinks experience would be useful against the lethal Heung-Min Son however, Ward may be called back into the starting eleven.
