Napoli not ruling out Hysaj sale

Napoli not ruling out Hysaj sale Napoli are not ruling out a deal to sell defender Elseid Hysaj to Chelsea in the future. Reports in Italy have revealed that should the club and Hysaj fail to meet an agreement over a new deal by January at the very latest, he will be forced into considering his options. Chelsea have been very keen to bring the Albanian defender to the Premier League since Maurizio Sarri took the job. Hysaj was one of a number of Napoli players that Sarri tried to bring with him to London, but was only able to sign Italian midfielder Jorginho. Napoli are also aware of the emergence French defender Kévin Malcuit, who they signed from Lille not long ago. The opportunity to sell Hysaj for big money, with a ready-made replacement already at the club could be too good of an offer to turn down for the Naples outfit. Cesar Azpilicueta has been used at right-back this season but the potential arrival of Hysaj could see the Spaniard return to a central role going forward.

Chelsea are in talks with Napoli over a deal to sign Elseid Hysaj in January, according to Calciomercato.

The report claims that Chelsea would be willing to pay as much as €50 million for the Albanian defender in January and allow Napoli to keep him on loan until the end of the season.

The Serie A outfit have refused to sell in the past, but with concerns over his long-term future at the club, Carlo Ancelotti’s side could be tempted by the offer to cash in.

Chelsea are expected to sell Davide Zappacosta in the summer and the arrival of Hysaj would mean a readymade replacement is available there and then.

Chelsea target Hysaj looks set to stay at Napoli

Chelsea target Hysaj looks set to stay at Napoli The agent of Elseid Hysaj, Mario Giufreddi, has revealed that he is confident of Hysaj staying at Napoli and returning to top form under Carlo Ancelotti. Manchester United and Chelsea have both been touted with interest in Hysaj, who has impressed for Napoli in recent years. Chelsea are keen to strengthen their defensive options and have targeted Hysaj as a potential new right-back. However, he looks set to snub interest from the Premier League and commit his future to Napoli in the Serie A. Speaking to Calcio Mercato, Giufreddi said this: “Hysaj? I talked a few moments ago with his father, I really liked his approach: we know its value, there may be moments of fogging but I am convinced that it will return to the levels expressed even in recent years. He suffered a bit from the adaptation with Ancelotti, after a very good time with Sarri.” Hysaj has made over 100 Serie A appearances for Napoli since his move from Empoli in 2015 and is regarded as one of the best fullbacks in the division. He has also been capped 37 times by his country Albania, and impressed in the 2016 European Championships.

The Albanian's current deal with Napoli expires in 2021 and the negotiations over a new deal have stalled as he asks the Partenopei to raise his wages from € 1,6 million to € 3 million a year Giuffredi's client is believed to have a € 50 m release clause but to him, Hysaj costs more: ''Is he worth € 50 m ?

Chelsea deal for Hysaj unlikely according to agent.
Chelsea have been handed a blow in their pursuit of Napoli defender Elseid Hysaj, with the player’s agent revealing a clause that will prevent the Blues from signing the Albanian. In an interview with Mario Giuffredi, the player’s agent, on Calcio Mercato, it has been revealed a clause was put in place between Napoli and Chelsea after the Blues signed Jorginho. In it, a clause was written in that will stop Chelsea from buying any more of Napoli’s players, to stop Maurizio Sarri raiding his old team. In the interview, talking about a potential switch for Hysaj, Giuffredi said: “We’ll talk about it after the January market. This summer he could go to Chelsea, Sarri would have liked him, he has a 50 million clause, maybe Naples would have even accepted 40-45 million. The negotiation has never taken off because De Laurentiis, to free Sarri, has imposed a clause that forbade Chelsea to take other players over Jorginho.” Hysaj has been a target for the Blues, as they look to strengthen at full back.
