Wilshere to miss Fulham clash with ankle injury

Wilshere to miss Fulham clash with ankle injury Jack Wilshere will miss out when West Ham visit Fulham on Saturday evening, according to reports. The midfielder had only just returned to fitness before once again being sidelined through an ankle injury – typically, to the other one that he had injured earlier in the season. The 26-year-old required surgery on that ailment, but his new problem is not understood to be as serious. Lucas Perez is also a doubt ahead of the game, meaning the Hammers are on the verge of a possible injury crisis. With Marko Arnautovic ruled out until the new year, the loss of Perez could mean that Andy Carroll will get his first start of the season. Heading into the busy period of festive fixtures, manager Manuel Pellegrini may be forced to look deeper into his squad. The Irons have seen their form pick up in recent weeks, having won three games on the bounce.

Jack Andrew Garry Wilshere (/ˈwɪlʃər/; born 1 January 1992) is an English professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Premier League club West Ham United and the English national team.

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has been ruled out for the Italy fixture. Jack Wilshere will miss England's friendly against Italy on Tuesday, dealing a potentially fatal blow to his World Cup prospects, but Joe Gomez will remain with Gareth Southgate's squad despite his early exit against Holland.

Jack Wilshere has joined Marko Arnautovic in the West Ham treatment room, with the midfielder also ruled out of this weekend’s clash with Crystal Palace.

BBC Sport have confirmed that the former Arsenal man will not be in action against Roy Hodgson’s men.

The Hammers were dealt a huge blow in the build-up to the game as it was confirmed that the Austrian would be sidelined for a month and the update on Wilshere’s fitness has made matters worse for Manuel Pellegrini.

Speaking about the midfielder’s fitness, the West Ham boss said:

“Wilshere is not 100% comfortable so he won’t be available, but I think it will just be for this game.”

Jack Wilshere could miss rest of the season with injury

Jack Wilshere could miss rest of the season with injury West Ham are worried that Jack Wilshere could miss the remainder of the season with injury, with the former Arsenal man set to miss the entire Festive period. The Mirror report that the midfielder is set to be out for five weeks, and will miss all of West Ham’s games over the Christmas period. However, other reports from Sportsbible say that West Ham are worried that if Wilshere does not recover after five weeks he may need more surgery, potentially putting him out for the remainder of the Premier League season. Wilshere has had constant trouble with injuries throughout his career, and has again run into trouble with them at West Ham. Losing the former Arsenal man would be a huge blow for the Hammers, especially with Manuel Lanzini and Andriy Yarmolenko both out long-term with injuries. West Ham are coping for now however, with the Hammers completing their fourth win on the trot at the weekend by beating Fulham.

Jack Wilshere - out of England matches next month. Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has been ruled out of England's European Qualifiers against San Marino and Switzerland. The 23-year-old has not played yet this season because of an ankle injury and had initially been ruled out for two months.

Wilshere’s latest set back is another blow in what has been a frustrating start to his time at West Ham after making the move from Arsenal in the summer.

The midfielder has been unable to kick-start his Hammers career with injuries preventing him from featuring for large spells of the campaign.

The 26-year-old has started just four Premier League games for West Ham and only made his return to action against Newcastle off the bench recently.

Dejan Lovren and Nathaniel Clyne ruled out of Bournemouth clash.
With Joe Gomez set to miss roughly six weeks of action with a fractured leg, two of the players in the frame to get more game time in his absence are Dejan Lovren and Nathaniel Clyne. However, neither of the duo will play this weekend as they’ve both been ruled out. Dejan Lovren is still suffering from a concussion after a clash of heads in training, whilst Clyne is still feeling the effects of a knock. That means that Joel Matip and Virgil van Dijk will start for the Reds at centre-back, with Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back. The good news is that Andrew Robertson is back fit after missing the 3-1 win over Burnley and he should slot straight back in at left-back, replacing Alberto Moreno who will drop to the substitutes bench. The injuries to Clyne and Lovren could see youngsters Rafa Camacho and Nat Phillips on the Reds’ bench as injury cover.
