Hasenhuttl dismisses Lemina exit talk.
Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has discussed the future of Mario Lemina. The midfielder was recently linked with a move to Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain ahead of the January transfer window following his impressive start to the season. Speaking ahead of the Saints’ upcoming Premier League clash with Huddersfield Town on Saturday, the manager fielded questions about the recent speculation surrounding the Gabon international. Hasenhuttl was quick to dismiss claims that Lemina could depart St Mary’s Stadium midway through the season and, as quoted by the Daily Echo, said: “Lemina is a very important player for us, one of our best players, and though he’s not 100 per cent fit I need him. The other guys we don’t want to speak about speculation. The players know what they have, what they can expect from us and that’s the main part.” The Austrian is set to have the former Juventus star at his disposal for the team’s trip to the John Smith’s Stadium at the weekend as Southampton look to pull away from a relegation battle. Lemina started in the Saints’ first game under Hasenhuttl in the 1-0 defeat at Cardiff. However, he was absent for the home win against Arsenal on Sunday afternoon as he nursed a minor injury. Oriol Romeu replaced the midfielder in the starting line-up.
