Tosun commits future to Everton despite Besiktas links

Tosun commits future to Everton despite Besiktas links Cenk Tosun is not ready to leave Goodison Park just yet. The forward joined from Besiktas in January of 2018 for a fee of £27 million, and speculation is already rife that he could be heading back to Turkey. Scoring seven goals in 23 appearances, Tosun has taken something of a back-seat role since the arrival of Marco Silva and wonder-kid Richarlison. Nevertheless, Tosun has still made 12 appearances so far this campaign for his club. Speaking to Turkish outlet My Net, Tosun is quoted as saying: “I’ve opened a new page in my career and I’m happy in Everton. The rumours of Besiktas is just gossip,” In four seasons at Besiktas, the centre-forward made himself something of a household name, scoring 64 goals in 142 appearances. The Turkish national team have also been thankful for Tosun’s exploits, capping him on 29 occasions. Despite suggestions that both he and fellow striker Oumar Niasse could be leaving Merseyside, it seems that Tosun himself is eager to remain in the Premier League.

Cenk Tosun ( Turkish : [dʒæɲc ˈtosun]; born 7 June 1991) is a Turkish professional footballer who plays as a striker for Premier League club Everton and the Turkey national team.

It’s easy to see why the Turkish media has been running rampant with rumours of Cenk Tosun returning to Besiktas in January. The striker is a fan favourite not only at the Black Eagles but pretty much all over the country. Tosun has also struggled both internationally and at Everton this season

The Turkish strikers has struggled to settle at Everton and has not shown the goalscoring form that got him signed last January.

SporunDibi claim Besiktas want a loan deal for the striker, who is struggling for game time at Everton.

The report from Turkey also suggests that Besiktas are close in sealing a deal for Tosun.

Chelsea linked with Cengiz Under

Chelsea linked with Cengiz Under Chelsea have reportedly entered the race to sign Cengiz Under from AS Roma in January. The Turkey international has been heavily linked with a departure from Serie A in recent times and according to claims from Calciomercatoweb, the Blues have emerged as potential suitors. It’s reported that Chelsea are prepared to part with a transfer fee of €35 million in their efforts to recruit Under. Maurizio Sarri, according to the report, would also be willing to offer Andreas Christensen in a player-plus-cash deal. The 21-year-old has caught the eye for Roma this season and has established himself as one of the most coveted attacking players in Italy. Chelsea have been linked with a host of wide players ahead of the January transfer window and it seems Under is among those being considered. It’s reported that Fali Ramadani, who now represents the Roma winger, is well-connected to members of the hierarchy at Chelsea and played an important role in helping Sarri to arrive as the club’s new manager in the summer.

Everton striker Cenk Tosun has been linked with a return to former club Besiktas after failing to adapt to life in the Premier League. The 27-year-old Everton signed Tosun off the basis of his impressive record in Turkey of 64 goals in 142 appearances for Besiktas, although the striker has failed to

The striker had said he would stay and fight for his place in the side. However, after yet more poof performances, Marco Silva may have finally lost patience with the striker.

Tosun joined Everton last January, and has netted seven times in the league. The striker has not made a huge impact however, especially due to the £27 million Everton paid for the Turk.

Everton looking to sell Oumar Niasse in January.
Everton are looking to sell striker Oumar Niasse in the January transfer window, according to the Liverpool Echo. Niasse has fallen completely out of favour under Marco Silva, having not made the matchday squad for the Blues’ last 12 games. They are thought to be “open to offers” for the 28-year-old, bringing his time at the club to an end. Niasse played under Silva during their time at Hull City together, but things have not worked out at Goodison Park. The trio of Richarlison, Cenk Tosun and Dominic Calvert-Lewin are all preferred in attack, with Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic also linked with a move. Cardiff City are believed to be interested in making a bid for Niasse, as Neil Warnock searches for more goals to keep the Bluebirds in the Premier League. The Senegal international has scored nine times in 32 appearances for Everton since joining from Lokomotiv Moscow in 2016.
