This will come as a massive blow to Liverpool with the busy Christmas schedule now beginning. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is likely to offer an update on Gomez’s condition shortly after the match. Gomez has been in superb form for Liverpool so far this season, excelling at centre-back and right-back for Klopp.

Liverpool defender Joe Gomez says that he will come back stronger after fracturing his lower left leg during the 3-1 win against Burnley

The England international was stretchered off midway through the first half on Wednesday night and after going for a can, it’s been revealed that he’ll miss six weeks of action.

Gomez has received a lot of support and well wished over the past few days and he recorded a message to thank everyone for their messages.

He said:

“Thank you to you all for your kind messages and well wishes. Obviously, I’m gutted to have picked up the injury but thankfully it’s not too serious and one I can definitely come back stronger from soon. I’ll do my best to come back as quickly as possible and be back with you guys soon. Thank you.”

Alexander-Arnold injury not as bad as Matip or Gomez.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp confirms that Trent Alexander-Arnold’s injury isn’t as serious as fellow defensive duo Joel Matip and Joe Gomez. However the German coach did concede that the news wasn’t ideal for anyone, with the 20-year old full-back set to miss out this weekend against Manchester United. Alexander-Arnold limped off against Napoli earlier this week, when the Reds beat the Partenopei 1-0 to progress to the Champions League Round of 16. With Gomez and Matip also out injured, Klopp faces a difficult defensive selection this weekend, although injury prone full-back Nathaniel Clyne is fit to play if called upon. Speaking before the game this weekend, Klopp confirmed that while Trent’s injury isn’t ‘top class news’, he won’t be out for as long as the other defenders currently on the sidelines. Klopp said: “I’m not sure it’s a crisis. I think if you feel it’s a crisis.” “With Trent it’s not as serious as the other two boys but obviously not top-class news.” “It was unlucky as well, especially with Joel, in the last minute of the game.
