United remain keen to strengthen defensively and rumours have suggested that the club could come back in for him in January.

Mourinho missed out on a number of targets during the previous transfer window and will be keen to avoid a repeat of the same in the new year.

Leicester City are bracing themselves for a quiet January transfer window in terms of players coming in. The Leicester Mercury claims that they do not expect any players to be arriving through the doors at the King Power Stadium in the new year. Manager Claude Puel is said to be happy with the players that he has at his disposal ahead of the January window. Leicester have scarcely been linked with players in the build-up to the transfer window, with fans offered very little hope about who could come into the club. While there may not be too many arriving, there is still likely to be speculation over the futures of a number of first-team players. The likes of Vicente Iborra and Harry Maguire continue to be linked with moves away from the King Power. Maguire is still believed to be a target for Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United, with the Red Devils eager to strengthen at the back.
