Roma unwilling to sell Arsenal target Under in January

Roma unwilling to sell Arsenal target Under in January Roma are refusing to sell Turkish star Cengiz Under in January, amid interest from Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United. Calciomercato report that the Giallorossi will not let the player leave during the upcoming transfer window, as he remains key to their plans this season. Under has been heavily linked with a Premier League move in recent weeks, with reports claiming that Arsenal have made him their number one transfer target. There had been some murmurs of a January bid from Arsenal emerging over the weekend, but that no longer appears to be the case. It was always believed that a January move was unlikely and it now looks like any potential suitors will be forced into holding off until the summer before pursuing a deal. Director of football Monchi is refusing to entertain any ideas of the player leaving during the January window, with his contract running until 2022.

Roma in the race to sign Arsenal target Bailly

Roma in the race to sign Arsenal target Bailly Roma have reportedly joined the race to sign Arsenal target Eric Bailly from Manchester United. The Gunners have been heavily linked with a move for the Ivory Coast international, who has fallen out of favour at Old Trafford under Jose Mourinho this season. United have often fielded a defensive partnership of Chris Smalling and Victor Lindelof, with Bailly forced to settle for a place on the sidelines. This has prompted speculation that the centre-back could leave the Red Devils in the mid-season transfer window, with the Emirates Stadium touted as a potential destination. A host of clubs are likely to be monitoring Bailly’s situation in Manchester and according to a report from Italian news outlet Calciomercato, Roma are among those interested. The Serie A side are said to have lined up the former Villarreal star as a potential replacement for Ivan Marcano, who looks set to leave the club in the near future. Bailly is hot property ahead of the January transfer window, with Tottenham Hotspur having also been previously linked with a move.

Arsenal target Weigl linked with PSG switch.
Arsenal could miss out on a deal for Julian Weigl, with the midfielder linked with a move to Paris Saint Germain. According to La Parisien, via Sports Witness, Weigl could be on his way to the French capital initially on loan, before a permanent deal in the Summer. Weigl would join the French champions for a fee of over €20 million according to the reports, meaning he would reject a switch to Arsenal. The 23-year-old has failed to force his way into Lucien Favre’s plans at Dortmund, and could be on the way out. Weigl has found first-team action limited at Dortmund this season, despite making numerous appearances before this season. Arsenal had been one of the side’s interested in Weigl, and would have to beat PSG’s offer to have any chance of securing a deal for the midfielder. The midfielder has struggled with injuries as of late, and missed the World Cup due to the knock.
