Sporting approach Liverpool to loan starlet Camacho Sporting Lisbon have approached Liverpool with a loan offer to sign young starlet Rafa Camacho in January, according to the Liverpool Echo. The 18-year old, who was previously a youth player with Sporting, has made rapid progression since being promoted to train at Melwood on a permanent basis, impressing during the club’s pre-season tour of the United States. The Portugal Under-20s international midfielder has also impressed in the UEFA Youth League this season, earning him first-team inclusion as an unused substitute on three occasions. Liverpool youngster Rafael Camacho is in talks over a loan move to Portuguese side Sporting.

According to O Jogo, Sporting are holding talks over a loan deal that will run until the end of next season.

It is believed that Sporting would like to have the option to sign the youngster as part of the deal, but it remains to be seen if the Reds will agree to such terms.

Camacho is highly rated at Anfield and has been on the fringes of the first-team squad for some time.

Despite that, he has previously been linked with moves away from the club in a bid to find regular game time.

Liverpool have confirmed the departure of youngster Taiwo Awoniyi, who has joined Belgian side Royal Excel Mouscron. As reported by the club’s official website, Awoniyi will spend the rest of the season with the Belgian side. Awoniyi had been on loan at fellow Belgian side KAA Gent, but the deal was cut short. The young striker will be hoping to make a mark in Belgium after only scoring three goals for Gent. After holding talks with Liverpool, the former decided it would be more beneficial for both parties if the loan deal was ended early, despite the player making 22 appearances during his stay.
